what is the point of a FAST ATTACK if it takes an extra second to pull off because Geralt is dancing around like a fairy?
From a point of view of practicality and real swordplay, it's ridiculous and moronic. No fencer would ever be stupid enough to do pirouettes in fights.
But this is, after all, a fictional game that plays in a world where these moves aren't punished, so they are keeping the spirit of the original work.
Gameplay wise, it can be annoying but the game's combat is a bit more tactical than your usual RPG so you have to keep the sluggishness in mind when choosing your moves--just like in witcher 2. I think it also emphasizes the use of signs and other tools (traps, bombs) to create a window of opportunity where you can slash unpunished.
lel lets have a moment of silence for xeidi
allso he's got 2 swords and he cant use them both? why the hell not *yes i know ones a silver one for monster* but you could stab a human with one all the same.
gotta say tho the combat is vastly improved over the second game.
Gameplay wise it would make him far too powerful if he can do both almost simultaneously.
That aside, from a realistic point of view dual-wielding doesn't make sense. The blades are too long to do that well and two blades aren't as advantageous as people believe.
In actual (real) combat, a single blade in two hands has numerous advantages to a dual-wield style. (And likewise, a dual wield style has advantages over single sword, in particular if it's two different weapons, e.g. Sword and Axe, or Sword and Dagger, because it allows attacks that the other weapon can't perform.)
Could just run it on a easy setting if you don't want as much of a test of your skills.
the AI are pretty much given a free hit at will (I just tested it, the first light attack with a silver sword is always a spin, unless you are literally right on top of them)
In a 4 hit light attack combo he spins twice. yet the spin serves no purpose. you are not immune to damage during the spin, so he isn't actually dodging anything.
and @Lord Khane it's not skill, it's forcing yourself to play a certain way to deal with crappy mechanics. there is a reason why the Souls games give you so many different attack styles, combos and animations.
