This is something i would like to know too if anyone has anything to add, noticed that even on quests that im say 5 levels lower than or even one that i did 10 levels lower than, i only got about 200Exp for, not far to say i battled against the odd's on a such a high level.

Idk does it take you longer to kill enemies in a harder difficulty?

I'm almost positive you don't get less experience per quest and such. I thought I was levelling slow on hard, so I switched to normal/dm a few times and quicksaved before finishing some quests and I didn't notice any different xp rewards. I'm on b&bb now, and I may move back up to DM because loligni. I think you just level slow in general. I'm still level 10 with, what, almost 30 hours?

I'd think the xp rewards are the same. Things take more hits to kill and your odds of dying are increased, you also have less freedom in where you can explore due to things higher level than you being very tough to deal with (so exploration takes a lot longer). I'm playing on Blood and Broken bones difficulty, I wish I started the game on Death March (mainly for the achievement, means I'll definitely be doing a second playthrough though :D) I just hit level 20 with around 37hours of in game time logged.

I play on the hardest. It takes forever because you have to keep repeating fights.

And you have to explore thoroughly, because you need the easier kills.

And you need food, Drowner brains, and Celandine.

Because a full health bar is a RARE occasion.

No picnics. No free rides.

No. I've chatted with 2 friends who play the game at the same pace as me, and are completionists. One is on normal, and the other on the second highest, while I'm on Deathmarch. Everyone left White Orchards at around level 4 after doing everything.

It's normal. I'm level 12 after 30 hours, so you level up slowly in this game.

Keep in mind that the needed XP to reach the next level is always 1000xp, so I dont think there is any advantage of doing quests that are suggested for higher level than you are currently as the xp rewards are static. As for difficulty affecting xp, I dont think there is any difference.

I might be wrong, it's just my theory. :)

It's 2000 exp for me at level 20.

Ok, gotcha. Guess it changes to 2000 after level 10? I'm at level 9 atm and it's 1000 per level.

If I remember correctly the xp required for each level goes up one hundred for every level. It probably stays like this until the maximum level (the max level is definitely above 35 since I have a diagram for a level 43 sword)

Oh god this makes me very happy. I'm so glad this game doesn't have the new and hip level cap of 20/30.

A level cap of 20/30 isn't new and hip, it's retro. Really old RPGs generally had a cap in that range (due to taking their inspiration from D&D).

You get better loot on harder settings, but XP is the same.
