I doubt it. The combat does not lend itself to a first person view. WHy would you want to play an action game in first person. Its not Skyrim where combat is very simple.

No. First person wouldn't work in this game. The Witcher 3 has an action combat system. Not a stand there and click one button until your enemy dies like in Skyrim.

Modders might do this though, I mean if a game is first person modders make it third person if a game is third person modder makes it first person... there is even a first and third person mod for the city builder Cities: Skylines. So I bet on if witcher 3 gets a bigg enough modding scene that trives it will happen that way. Officially by the devs though it will never go first person I think, but hey they did it to Gta 5 so you never know.

Why do people assume that someone wanting first-person would exclusively use it? I would love a mod that allows FP for exploration and wandering in cities and a quick Mousewheel out to TP for combat. Options are a good thing.

We can't tell for sure before we played it ourself but I guess you will enjoy it. It has been stated numerous times that the game will be understanable if you didn't played the previous games.

Also if you are in doubt about it go ahead an play the witcher 2. You should be able to grab it for around 5 bucks, and it still is a very very good game - one of the best rpgs i ever played (better than skyrim in my opinion). I don't suggest playing the first, its kind of an old game by now and the combat is kinda weird, start with part 2. you dont miss much story

Far better combat. To be honest in Skyrim Combat was awefull. You were mashing mouse button and hoped to have more HP than the other one. If you didn't wear a shild you practically had no way to evade any attacks so I felt pretty clumpsy alltogether.

Witchers Story is pretty great - in my opinion one of the best ever written in a video game. Also unlike games like dragon age decisions are really meaningfull and not just "im a good fella / im an evil ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥"
