Hey guys, I have a question? Which version of The Witcher 3 to buy? Physical or digital ??
If I buy the physical version is compatible with Steam Achievements ?? and with everything that has steam.

Physical - DRM free copy which means that you won't be hindered by any restrictions at all. The game is yours to keep for a lifetime. You'll also get a redeemable GOG key which can be used in the GOG website for a digital copy.

Digital - Can either be DRM free (if you bought it on GOG) or DRM (Steam). No word yet on Steam achievements so wait for the reports.

Obviously, it's better to choose the DRM-free option (either digital GOG or physical).
... unless you like Steam's easy installation and automatic updates, making the choice not so obvious. With good luck Steam users will get the same GoG deal as with TW2 down the road.
Devs said that the game will get Steam and Origin achievements
I want to buy the physical version for the soundtrack, for map, on the other hand, I like Steam and all the goodness I can have, Oh well I have some time to decide which version to buy. Thanks guys for your response.

Physical copy does not get any code for GoG, or any other digital distribution. If you buy physical, you forever have to install the game from the physical disks.

Only if you buy from those stores though. Physical or GoG versions will not get Steam/Origin achievements. Though are in game achievements.
Owning it on steam will have no effect, seems to be nerds on here promoting GoG. GoG is garbage don't buy from there.

Not nerds. Adults who know how to be clever consumers.
i dont believe that psychical copy is nonsteam version... all online stores say it includes a cd key for steam because of free DLC downloads.

Well those online stores are wrong. Physical version does not come with any code for any digital distribution system. For the expansions, it was already stated by the developers that Physical versions will have to get the expansions from GoG since physical version is DRM free. If the physical versions were coming with Steam code, then obviously they would get the expansions from Steam.

I didn't find any mention of digital keys while browsing the physical copy retailers listed by CDprojekt. You're probably viewing digital resellers which naturally state the purchase includes includes a Steam/GoG key.
