How so? Normally games like this I play with a controller because I don't need the precision of the mouse (unless I use the crossbow).
Good input. This is my exact reasoning as well. Playing the game with a controller I would properly shy away from using the crossbow though.
The game doesn't suffer from finicky camera controlling implementation. It doesn't suffer from any mouse acceleration/negative acceleration issues. You can turn off forced camera auto-centering. Using crossbows/throwable items is much more precise and enjoyable. Basically the mouse is perfect in this game, unless you want to handicap yourself with analogue stick for some reason.
As for the keyboard, you can bind controls however you like. All signs and pocket items can be bound to separate buttons. And on top of that the game doesn't have analogue movement, so the left stick is pretty much useless.
I switched left and right triggers because I'm so used to using the witcher sense with my right hand. Also disabled press left stick to sprint because it's kinda finicky to me (and also A is speed-up for horse-riding and sailing, too.) After a bit of getting used to it, things feel very natural except for some things on very few occasions. Dodging is a lot better. Playing on DM again after a break of two years or so and I've never felt like the controls are getting in my way ... to the contrary, I think, I'm doing better (probably because ranged weapons are so irrelevant.)
This time im trying the controller due to the new quick casting.
Both are great options. I do prefer using M+K due to camera movement being easier with a mouse....years of experience. But its also nice to sit back and relax with a controller.
Controller settings feel janky to me in my opinion.
Hope you all have a pleasant holidays <3
played a long time with controller on witcher 3 but be aware
even on the vanilla game , there's some input lag and on the next gen patch update its worst . adding new bug with controller , game don't register some input , camera bug with controller , bug animation cancel with controller . ..
until a fix , go on K/M setup .
K/M setup on this game is very friendly .
i prefer controller , game experience is very chill with it
be aware , if you any drifting joystick issues ( the left ) , your experience will be horrible ( if your overlay steam don't work , having and old controller with drifting issues , only way to fix it was on parameter/config controller on steam . the game don't have any setting for left stick sensibility / response )
swtich sign with the molette moose , key A ( arzerty ) or key Q ( qwerty )
i never use radial menu on K/M
