Did next-gen update fixed Witcher's terrible hitboxes?
One of the worst problems of W3 was terrible hitboxes and buggy combat code. Where opponent's attack been accounted earlier than yours, dispute you were the one who hit first.

Here is an example.

I've been wondering if anything changed with next-gen patch.

They fixed a ton of bugs, combat seems fine to me

Not sure what your talking about is in the list

"Added the mod Full Combat Rebalance 3 by Flash_in_the_flesh which includes balance changes and various fixes to gameplay. We took a curated approach to this mod, with some elements further tweaked from what you’ll find in the mod by default, while other elements were omitted." <-- probably what your looking for.

Thanks for the answer. Combat balance is not what I'm looking for.

Hitboxes are technology responsible for counting attack as successful in melee combat. E.g. when you hit an enemy with a weapon hitbox responsible for detection of successful hit of enemy's body(3d model). When you have bad hitboxes in the game attacks can be counted even when attack doesn't touched the body.

So damage or even death happens not because of successful attack, but because of a bug. Here is another video example:

imo they seem the same as they always have.
So there are still problems with damage happens when attack missed? This can be easily checked in the battle with griffin in White Orchards.

yeah the visuals don't always align with the damage you receive, both hits and misses. its unreliable as always. delivering damage isn't that much of an issue, but receiving feels like RNG sometimes.
Uggh. I never understood how could a AAA game have it's main gameplay being so badly broken.

Reason why you don't have this problem when making damage is because Geralt has descent hitboxes. While many enemies have horrible one.

i mean the genre of fighting-games before sekiro were all flawed imo ;) *HOT TAKE* /s

I get it, I just take it for what its worth personally. its satisfying enough i suppose, but I wouldn't want it to be too hard LMAO.
I'm not asking for Souls series quality of hitboxes, where one can lay on the ground, and enemies would miss you.

But W3 has very terrible hitboxes, which is a glaring issue. Yet after all those years they still haven't even tried to fix that. That's not a walking sim either. Witcher 3 is action-RPG and combat is the core gameplay of the game.

I have found that those drowners do not even attack any more you can go stand in a group of 5-10 of them and they just stand there looking at you ( may be a dx 12 bug )

like i said, I get it, im with you.
What's interesting: Witcher 2 had worse combat system, but way better hitbox quality.

If only mod makers figured out how to edit hitboxes in W3.
