dx 12 is better when the core game was made with it in mind not with the bullshhh they did, aka a wrapper.
edit: just hope CDPR can improve CPU usage.
omg.. its free update... which everybody got for free... you dont like it? play DX11 version.. you really expect some company to recreate DX11 engine into DX12 and give it for free???
How is it not "real" DX12? RT is only supported on DX12 and so is the newest versions of FSR and DLSS.
"This plate of s#it is free! Why are you mad at the waiter who served you?"
I think it might be due to the increased LOD and the amount of NPCs. On R7 5800x I am never having any CPU usage issues, at least not yet. On Steam Deck I do see the GPU and CPU fight for power in cities and the FPS will drop to 30-40 FPS.
But overall I think the game uses the cores evenly. I am not seeing 1-2 cores sitting at 100% usage while the rest chill, I am seeing even usage across 8+ cores/threads.
It is but it seems not many people are aware.
It means it's not a proper implementation of DX12, it's probably a wrapper. To put it in simple terms, it's somewhat like an ENB.
Oh yeah we all remember those days, my intel uhd 620 did it too.
I am no expert in DX12 implementation or work with APIs. DX12 and Vulkan have however compared to older APIs introduced better CPU utilization, which I do believe I see in the next gen version. One thing I do know is that graphical features and performance is linked to API type and some are exclusive as of this date. Saying it is a "wrapper" seems like terminology from people who don't know what they're talking about.
It seems you need an upgrade if you can't use your RTX 3080. My RX 6800, which is less powerful than your RTX 3080, is chugging along just fine. Disable RT and hairworks and enjoy the game.
