it is not a VRAM problem, it was done like that by design, it is not a defect at all. And it is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. You end up losing around 4-6% in performance when using more than 3.5 GB of VRAM as compared to when using less than 3.5GB of VRAM. This means that if you were getting 60 FPS when using less than 3.5 GB of VRAM, you will end up with about 56.4 FPS when using more than 3.5 GB of VRAM.
Ozgameshop only sell physical product. Yes they can take out the download code from the package and email it to you because it takes a long time to send physical stuff from UK to Australia. However, Witcher 3 is not available anywhere except Steam for Steam download, just like GTA V. Witcher 3 Steam is Digital only, through Steam only.
And I paid $53 last year before the price hijack so it's O.K for me *flash Steam Witcher 3*
$89.99 for Australia bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha *coughs* *choke* *die*
No thanks Origin.
P.S: In US dollars no less.
Im sorry but i live in Australia and i know im getting ripped off on steam, so i look elsewhere and i know the most of the money goes to the developer so happy days.
I'm also from Australia, I said this before but I got lucky before they hijack the price to the current 75 USD before loyalty discount (I own TW2 on Steam as well) so I only pay 53 USD for the preorder. I usually buy from Greenmangaming or Gamersgate (which is owned by Paradox Interactive the same way GoG is owned by CD Project) to get around the price difference.
The only difference in this case I can think of is that I'm going to get pre-load before you do. Actually if I'm correct you don't get pre-load at all since there's no download for physical disc except for patches, so you have to wait longer after release to get your hands on the game. I'm going to get to preload it before the game is released like GoG (but still can't play till release). I'm also able to get the Expansions on Steam. Oh and I will get Trading Cards.
GOG and Steam are different. If you buy a game on steam or put a cd-key in steam they both download from steam. I have no idea why your talking about GoG i dont even use it.
Did you buy GTA V? It's the same deal. Every retailers will sell you a Rockstar Social Club downloand. Only Steam sell you Steam download. Ozgameshops simply can't, they take it from the physical CD which in case of TW3 does not have any download code, not even GoG. Don't be surprised later.
Looking at Ozgame shop, you are buying a physical version of the game. The Physical version of the game does not have any CD Key of any kind for any digital distribution, because no CD Key exists for physical version. When the game releases they will send physically send you a physical boxed version of the game to your house. There is no cd key for them to send you, cause no cd key will exist. When you get the physical version delivered to your house, you will install the game from the DvD, you will download patches from Witcher's official website, if you want the expansions you have to buy the expansions from GoG. You will not be getting Steam achievements or trading cards with the physical version of the game since there is no CD key to enter into Steam or any other digital distribution.
So do not be suprised when you get the boxed physical version delivered to your house after the game releases and you find no CD Key inside the box, there is no CD Key for them to send you, it does not exist for physical versions.
Have a look on the right it sais "DOWNLOAD STORE Digital Downloads and Cd Keys". I do not buy physical copies, i only buy the keys. They email you the code you put it steam and then it downloads, i have got Trading cards and Achievement would like me to send you a photo?.
Do you find it strange they have not send you a code yet? Also, no other legit store is selling Steam codes, but this one is? Does that seem right? Don't be surprised if on the day of release you get an email from them canceling your pre-order, cause I doubt they would want to spend more money on buying steam codes to fill their Pre-orders to only make a loss on the sales instead of a profit.
Also the developers had this to say
http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/30678-Will-The-Witcher-3-Retail-also-have-a-digital-key-install?p=1565406&viewfull=1#post1565406
Looks like to me Ozgame shop is speculating, only making assumptions they can buy the codes for less than $56au to turn a profit.
its 49,79 for me on gog
It happens everywhere in australia a xbox one physical game is 109$ even on the psn and xboxlive its 109$. Digital movies are 8$, cable is 30% more exspensive. Please dont tell me its about wages because we all know its bull, they are taking the iGEA to court because of high prices but that was years ago and nothing happened.
So you can see why i buy from ozgameshop. I have been with them for years and had no problems. Ppl know how much things are actually worth because of the internet its not snes days Snes games where 120$ and everybody thought that how much they where all over the would but now we know we are getting ripped off. 75$ for a digital game and they wonder why people pirate.
"Australians are paying on average 34 percent more for software, 51 percent more for iTunes music, 88 percent more for Wii games, and 41 percent more for computer hardware than US consumers."
This is a good read. - http://www.gamespot.com/articles/why-australian-game-prices-will-not-drop/1100-6401518/
Except there is no steam version not from steam except:
VPN
Unauthorised trader
People, get your head around it. Just like GTA V there is no Steam authorised reseller this time, this game is NOT a Steam DRM only game, hence there is no Steam activate code from physical copy, Amazon can't sell Steam code then why does some shady site can?
