Worth playing previous games and what it entails when loading choices into Witcher 3?

As to if it worth to play previous games or not - to each their own.
I personally adore Witcher 2 despite it's janky combat, so it was worth playing for me.

Witcher 1 - ehh, not so much, it's too far from the gameplay model that Witcher 2 and 3 are based on.

The third part is a continuation of the first and second, if you like the story then I would recommend playing the previous ones

It's a narrative driven game. And you're going to be lost jumping into the finale of a trilogy that already required the context of the novels to fully understand.

I mean, people still play the game like a Geralt has no emotions and is neutral.
