Absolutely.
100% just started my second playthrough a few days ago

Started playing for the first time a week or two ago. Feels like it holds up fairly well. Graphics and voice acting are great. Gameplay is a bit weaker with the simple combat. The open world checklists and having to deal with loot upgrades is probably its biggest weakness.

Just started this game and can say that it absolutely slaps

Started it after the release of the Witcher 4 trailer, got it for 10€ before christmas. I have no regrets about the purchase. Close to Platinum now. // Edit: done :)
Some NPC models seem a little bit outdated, but overall a great game with well aged graphics.

Try to search on Youtube for Witcher 3 modpacks and play with one you will enjoy the showcase of - graphical overhaul, reshade, gameplay overhaul etc. etc.

Playing vanilla Witcher 3 is like playing vanilla Skyrim. Bearable, but why would you?
Just started my 3rd or 4th attempt to play through this. Cant remember why i didnt kept playing the first 2 times, 3rd time i got stopped by boring inventory managment simulator and would have to fiddle around with manual modinstall - than next gen update happened which fcked something with my save - so here i am for my, hopefully this time, real playthrough. Fingers crossed, a few mods really make this muhc more bearable than before.
But than again - i havent finished any open world game in many many years now. The repetetiveness always gets me, no matter how much i like the game.

Imo graphic mods are not needed, I pay this maxed out without raytracing and it looks phenomenal. One of the best graphics ive ever seen.
Regarding other mods and Skyrim - imo u cant really compare this - Skyrim is lacking in so many areas and needs TONS of fixes for almost everything ON TOP of the unoffical community patch that fixes 13k bugs. Witcher3 just needs a few minor qol and balance patches.

The Witcher 3 next gen is still a phenomenal looking and playing game! I'm going through another playthrough now. Busy clearing Velen.
Compared to games like Skyrim the combat system is much more involved. You can even turn off the auto draw sword and auto apply oils so you have to draw the correct sword and use the correct oil, which means that you'll need to consult your bestiary sometimes.

Recommended mods -
The two Brothers in Arms patches (Bug fixes and restored content, LoD bundle/fixes)
HD Reworked Project NextGen (Better textures - everywhere! New version just recently released)
Ability Icons redone (beautiful colorful icons)
Buff Icons redone (beautiful colorful icons)
Brothers in Arms and HD Reworked Project compatibility patch (so you can use both without issue)
its a timeless classic.
Totally worth it. I just started my second playthrough after finishing witcher 1 and 2.

I suppose it's worth playing... finished it when it was released, then returned back for blood and wine. now bought on steam during winter sale and it's amazing with next gen update - nice textures, RT... just great!
