New DLSS 4.0 is fantastic in this!
For those who don't know earlier today Cyberpunk 2077 got a new patch with the new DLSS AI transformer model that is supposed to massively increase the quality of the image. I took the files and tweaked them to work in Witcher 3 and the results are glorious.

I play with Quality DLSS + Frame Gen on RTX 4070 Ti at 3440x1440 resolution. I get 90 FPS plus with full raytracing and no visible artefacts. I also use an enhanced Ray Tracing mod and the latest Next Gen Overhaul graphical mod. With these two the game already looks great but without Frame Gen runs at about 50 FPS.

The original DLSS that came with the Next Gen update was pretty mediocre and had a somewhat blurry look to it. I just took it for granted because the graphical gains from enabling RT to my eye were worth it. With the new model, just see for yourselves:

Check the stitching on Geralt's armor and the shoulderpad. The grain is restored with pristine accuracy. I thought Gryphon armor did not have much grain but it does!!

Same thing with Yen's outfit (buttons, stitching etc.)

Simply a ton more detail in character clothing and small details. And it looks even better in motion because all that texture is fully preserved. No ghosting, no smearing, no low-res textures. For those with Nvidia DLSS cards - get excited to get a massive boost in graphics for no cost!

This will be compatible with 3xxx series as well just without frame generation. The latest Nvidia drivers are coming out soon everyone should be able to force the new model from the Nvidia app. So if you don't want to tinker with these things by hand - just wait until the 30th!

Hi, how do I want to set it up too?

I used this reddit thread as a rough guideline:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1i82rp6/dlss_4_dlls_from_cyberpunk_patch_221/

1. got the DLSS files from the Cyberpunk bin/x64 folder.
2.put them in the Witcher 3 x64dx12, folder. (this will immediately imrpove frame gen)
3. installed Nvidia inspector from github
4. set the setting for The Witcher 3 DLSS to 0x000000A in the tool. (this forces the new transform upscale model). Good luck!

Sadness, I didn't understand anything, can you please do a video guide
I would if i did videos like that. Took me a bit to figure out and i been using nvprofileinspector for many years. But got it working. No idea if it's using the Temporal stuff or not. But it is using a different mode and it does look better. cp2077 looks amazing with it. And doesn't require anything special on our end. I'd hope to see an update for W3 soon.

Yea just tried it and its much much better although it kinda exposes the age of the game to degree its so good at least a 4k.
Wouldn't call it "fantastic"....Nothing special. Looks a tad better on my 4080S I guess. But then again, I'm playing on 4K so there isn't really a noticeable difference.
A shame that we won't get the Mutli Frame Generation update on the RTX 4000 series.
That would really be a gamechanger

I believe on the 30th there will be an update on the nvidia app which allows you to use dlss 4 on any game, like what you did but easier.
neat, glad everyone is enjoying their nvidia only features.
I still don't understand why this game on PS5 pro is still at 30 fps in RT mode, didn't they say the PS5 pro will run the RT mode at 60 fps in patched games ? like that was the whole selling point of the pro

I also tried this, and the resolution improvement was immediately noticeable! However, I have been noticing much heavier disocclusion artifacts when in motion, especially trailing Geralt or in heavier forest scenes. I wonder if others have noticed this same thing, specifically using RT lighting? even with the increased res quality, it’s hard for me to recommend it unless playing without RT (which is why I’m even using DLSS in the first place)

I can confirm the dlss4 is incredible and makes the witcher 3 shine even more.
A real step is made with this new dlss.

It's compatible with any RTX card.
It may be more demanding on performance with rtx3000 and rtx2000 cards by the way.

it looks great standing still sure. once geralt moves it becomes an artifacting, gross mess. especially in grass and trees. absolute downgrade in terms of general image quality unless youre taking screenshots

yes, the foliage and grass and trees look awful with the transformer model. clothes and skin and geometry look better, anything moving does not
