Trouble Resolving Script Compilation Errors

Okay, so first and foremost, I apologize for posting this sort of issue yet again. However, I've read through every post here and at CD Projekt Red on the issue and it's not resolving, so I'm hoping someone here might have some guidance.

I modded the game back in 2018 and then took a break until the next gen update. Starting up the game I got a script compilation error so I deleted everything I could find on my drive for the game, and specifically including the mods folder and the AppData folder for the game. After re-installing the game fresh, to a different drive, every time I boot it up (current version) with mods disabled (though same issue happens with mods enabled), I get the following script compilation errors:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Vortex, and repeatedly reinstalled the game to different drives. I've run script merger without any luck as there are no mods installed.

It appears my game is somehow bricked, so if anyone can assist I'd deeply appreciate it!

game is not bricked , its very simple your game is not fresh.

you most likely forgot to delete mods that are on documents/witcher 3

you would need to delete that first then verify game files on steam.

if that does not help , it will mean you still have mods from old version somewhere you did not delete.

Hey thanks for the response. Unfortunately I have already uninstalled and re-installed the game three times, and each time gone into the game folder and documents and appdata to delete everything from the game.

sometimes steam uninstalling/reinstalling a game does NOT delete files/folders downloaded/created from non steam sources. it deletes steam downloaded files ONLY

steam uninstall the game then
go to folder ...\steam\steamapps\common
if the Witcher 3 folder is still there, rename it

go to folder Documents
if the WItcher 3 folder is still there, rename it
(your save files are in the gamesaves folder)

go to folder
c:\users\YourWIndowsLogin\appdata\local
if the folder REDEngine is still there, rename it

go to folder
c:\users\YourWIndowsLogin\appdata\local\programs
if the folder CD Projekt Red is still there, rename it

so now nothing is deleted, still exists in the renamed folders if you need something

steam verify game files to reinstall the game
run the vanilla game. NO MODS. no vortex, nothing else.

It's GLARINGLY obvious, if you just read your own error messages, that the problem is caused by a missing mod - Slots Slots Slots, to be specific.

Of course not, because you CLEARLY have remnants of the last install lingering on your PC somewhere. Follow all of the instructions in the comment from cheshirm and you should be good to go.

I have done this, four times now.. I've run searches on every drive for anything that says "Witcher," and "Slots," and there's nothing left.

played the game since Dec 2015. on win 7 10 and 11 and two desktops.
no slotslotsslots script errors on any installations

still looks like the problem is on your machine and you missed something

download dependency walker 64
run depends.exe
then file/open
find the witcher3.exe
takes a while to load and may display errors.
then click on profile/start profiling
program will show everything loading in the bottom window
the game eventually runs on my window 11

on yours hopefully it will show what it is not loading or some kind of useful error msgs

You would not think CD Project Red / GoG would support the game if it is modified. Hence no luck finding solutions.

Agree with Cheshirm, it could be the save game folder. And other items to check one by one.
