But mods can be a personal thing that you don't really know what you prefer until you play through the game once. For example, I don't like the high heels on the girls and there's a mod to put them in more practical footwear. Ciri's battle attire isn't very practical either and there's a mod to put some armor on her.
Having said that, the AMM mod (Appearance Menu Mod) will allow you any appearance you want without changing the stats of the gear you equip, and it's pretty popular as some of the armor in the game is pretty ugly (e.g Griffin armor).
There's a mod that improves aiming with mouse. There's a mod that gives more potion quickslots.
There's a mod that improves all the graphics to 4K quality, called something like "Witcher 3 reworked" or something like that. There's a mod that puts warmer clothes on the Skellige people. There's a mod that makes rain heavier, etc
There's plenty of here-are-all-the-mods-I-use guides out there e.g https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2762927670
but I wouldn't be going to that extreme on first play through.
my friend asked for the link
If you want graphics mods, I would go here and sort by all-time most endorsed mods for W3:
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/trendingalltime/?BH=1
...and just go from most popular down.
As a person just finishing first play through, the mods I have loaded are just AMM and currently looking for mod that gives more potion quickslots. I will add and remove more as I go, no doubt. I don't think you need all those mods in the link in my first post though.
And grats for 4090)
Thanks. That is good to hear. I played it a long time ago and haven't encountered any bugs too.
Thanks. And, why use the old version? Isn't the new version the one that added Ray Tracing and better graphics? I'm guessing here. I'm not sure.
Idk much about this game and how it's been updated, but modders usually update their mods to the next gen. In the link posted by b1_ you can see that a few were updated to be compatible with next gen.
