i know Witcher 4 is in the works. I have seen some stuff on that. Though am I the only one who thinks it would be cool if they made a game before Geralt or side game or something? Have it take place when more Witchers were around you can create your own character choose which Witcher School and creating your own legend and everything? Could add some options for some multiplayer co op stuff. Unsure about PvP. There could be sorceress and such in the game to since thats been a thing with it as well.

I think that type of Witcher game would be great.

I would've preferred experiencing the first age of the Witchers, the Golden era and the "end" of the Witchers. Would've made for a nice trilogy.
Thats what I'm saying the first age the golden era of the Witchers they could of made room for some of the stuff I said. Character customization choose what Witcher school. Since there are others then Kaer Morn. I admit I probably screwed up the spelling on that. Each Witcher game has been good in my opinion. Some titles like that fans would love as long as they didn't mess it up I guess. Though they are doing more with Ciri.

On Top of The witcher 4 & Witcher 1 remake, there's actually a thread Witcher project in work as well. Code-name Sirius and will feature online play. It would make sense for us to be able to make our own characters. We don't know much about the project as of now, tho. I don't think most people in the community are really found of the idea of a " Witcher online game " but if it's done well, it's gonna be interesting.

I did not know that. At the same time when I talk about a time when there were more Witchers and other Witcher schools you create your own like which school your from and so on. Would be a world difference compared to the current games of course. Though all the while the character you create and such makes their own legend. Some choices in the creation could effect some things then you could go on to level differently. Perhaps they rely on signs and such a lot. Maybe they are defensive you could say and rely on parry and counter to get chances to attack more besides when they are wide open. Or maybe the fighting includes stamina you could work on that and be deft quick dodge counter and everything. Maybe your more of a brute and instead of carrying the regular Swords you carry Great Sword. More of a power house defense and dodging isnt as good and dont block much but you are a power house with attacks. Maybe you use more potions or use the Signs alot. Can go build your character differently as you level around all that. Doesn't have to be online either. Never said anything like a MMO.

I would like to see that too, playing as young Geralt/Vesemir when it all started to fall apart, we may get a short story or a remembering in the witcher remake, which is quite far away...
BG3 -> Custom and Origin Character. All lore freaks can play with Ciri if its so important to them, and the rest of us play Custom Character because its video game after all.

Seperate Lore/World and Video Game is just smart. Players might play it twice too. True fans play with Ciri first then Custom Character later. Games like Gwent already breaks the immersion, etc. Im playing with this idiot in Tarvern a card game.

I don't like any of those ideas. Character creation? Multiplayer? PVP? Choosing what school?
Nah.. it's like turning The Witcher into a Bethesda RPG. I wouldn't want that at all. The Witcher is a character game. It's not about you making your own generic persona, it's about playing with a well written character with a backstory and a purpose.

A game take place before Geralt's time? Sure.. but they would need to introduce a proper character or maybe even play as young Vesemir.

Bethesda is making RPG games? I bet they do Skyrim with ES6. Then they talk people into buying it and its awesome and great. Story is probably some Fantasy cliche.

My biggest hope from ES6 is realistic armors, not these skins we get.

None of this makes sense though :/

Bethesda RPGs aren't multiplayer (no PvP). If you have a Witcher game with character creation it 100% has to be a prequel because of lore reasons and it could work as a Monster Hunter-Witcher Edition type game imo.

I think it could be done well and even lend itself to a live service type model where each 'season' gives players new hunts to complete, scaling from solo ones up to big team-ups to take down real nasty monsters.

The only 2 questions are 1) Is there will to make the product and 2) Can they do it without screwing up the lore they're using as a platform for this multimedia franchise?

99% sure it would sell and it would sell well.

Game industry doesnt work like that. New Boss battles, or new monsters types are rare in game industry. They wont give us new Monsters for every Season. If people are lucky they add them for Expansion.

What they like to do is that. Take an Orc, Give it a King's Rune and call it Orc King. Remove Orcs clothes and call it Orc Peasant. Give orc a robe. Call it Orc Shaman. Etc. They recycle and quality goes down and eventually every player leaves. Avoid Online and MP imho.

Back to topic. I hope Custom Characters. I get some strange Dishonored vibes from Ciri. Its gonna be some agile-dodge-stealth-teleporter-maybe-some-firebolt type of character. I play it if they do it well, but its not my favorite.

Never said there would have to be pvp. I agree backstory lore purpose are a must have. Though also think about it The Witcher already has choices you can make in game. So don't say it doesn't touch on RPG elements as is. Sure they could still make the character well written in conversation and so on but don't see why there could not be a Witcher game where you create your own character and everything. Honestly PvP in the Witcher series no thank you in my opinion. If everyone had their own Witcher co op on some hunts possible or think of like a over run of a certain monster or monsters in a area that are the only things ment for co op. It could work. You forget when there were more witchers around some came from different schools. So if everything was done right it all could work out well. I guess some people are closed minded in thinking though of different potentials.

Theres 8 schools in Witcher, Theres zero chance we get them all, simply its too expensive. Its not even CDPR's style to focus so much on combat. Maybe in turn-based they could do 8 schools, go figure.

I think Ciri's Lyxn school isnt enough for whole trilogy. I think Ciri needs "custom character" partner.
