Seperate Lore/World and Video Game is just smart. Players might play it twice too. True fans play with Ciri first then Custom Character later. Games like Gwent already breaks the immersion, etc. Im playing with this idiot in Tarvern a card game.
Nah.. it's like turning The Witcher into a Bethesda RPG. I wouldn't want that at all. The Witcher is a character game. It's not about you making your own generic persona, it's about playing with a well written character with a backstory and a purpose.
A game take place before Geralt's time? Sure.. but they would need to introduce a proper character or maybe even play as young Vesemir.
Bethesda is making RPG games? I bet they do Skyrim with ES6. Then they talk people into buying it and its awesome and great. Story is probably some Fantasy cliche.
My biggest hope from ES6 is realistic armors, not these skins we get.
None of this makes sense though :/
Bethesda RPGs aren't multiplayer (no PvP). If you have a Witcher game with character creation it 100% has to be a prequel because of lore reasons and it could work as a Monster Hunter-Witcher Edition type game imo.
I think it could be done well and even lend itself to a live service type model where each 'season' gives players new hunts to complete, scaling from solo ones up to big team-ups to take down real nasty monsters.
The only 2 questions are 1) Is there will to make the product and 2) Can they do it without screwing up the lore they're using as a platform for this multimedia franchise?
99% sure it would sell and it would sell well.
