Recent shadow glitch

Just yesterday I started the treasure hunt for the Cat school gear diagrams. When I came out the the cave I noticed the shadows under and around the buildings were blocky and almost solid black! This was not like this previously and it looks terrible. Has anyone else had shadow problems that seemed to just start out of the blue?
Before you ask, I am totally updated on game and video and audio drivers as well as Windows itself.

I have this exact same problem after coming out of the cave, have you found any way to fix it? I can't find anything online about it.
