You lost coin.
So I'm taking out a village full of gouls. Hard difficulty with the Hardcore mod. I'm cutting my was through the gouls when some bellend from nilfgard on patrol decide to come and help me. They rush in and start windmilling. Only everytime they swing at the gouls they hit me aswell. Next thing I know I'm passed out and they've ♥♥♥♥ed off with my coin.

So is there a way to turn friendly fire off? Granted it's funny when an archer takes out his own guys but seeing as I couldn't even harm the guards hitting me it seems a bit broken atm.

Never seen a guard remotely close to any moster ingame unless it was part of the story.

It was a goul infested village, next to the ferry port in eastern velen. There was a niflgard patrol nearby.

Well that seems like a really rare occurrence and it'll probably never happen again. But to answer your question no, I don't think you can turn FF off without modding (even then I'm not sure)

It's probably a side quest. You are probably supposed to go find them and get your coin back?

There was a similar quest north of Novigrad, all you do is have a couple drinks with some guys, and then you wake up the next day and they've literally taken everything from you. You then have to go find them and get your stuff back.

It's no sidequest. Just a bug I think.

No, when guards incapacitate you they take your money. This guy was just victim to really bad NPC placement.

That doesn't make sense, how does a bug explain Geralt "passing out." Which would have to have been put in there by the devs, and how does a bug allow guards to steal your money while your passed out?

That all would have had to have been added in, surely it can't be a 'bug.'

Wait, so if you try to fight guards and they win then Geralt passes out and they take your money?

Yes

Lol that's weird. I've fought plenty of guards but I've never lost. I always figured you would just die and have to reload.

No you pass out and wake up and they have taken like half your money.

Haha well redo the quest and don't get hit! lol

No but seriously you should try to redo the quest OP and use Quen a lot.

Yeah I have to be honest, in the 130 or so hours I've put into this game, I've never had quite the predicament he's describing. The only time this has happened to me has been when I was just messing around, starting on the guards for no reason and not really taking the fight very seriously. I doubt the developers would change it because as I understand things it is as safeguard to stop you going on a rampage in the villages/towns and killing/stealing everything. So just reload an earlier save and hope it doesn't happen again.
