What's the deal with cats?

Many times through the game the camera focus in on some cat or another. Why? What's up with that?

There's some speculation that all will be revealed in one of the expansions (man of glass).

I am nearly done, and never had the game focus on a cat.

I've seen plenty of cats running about.

There's one in the Bloody Baron questline, for example. It's in the house where you find Tamara in Oxenfurt, and the camera rests on the cat for a while after she leaves.

I don't care for felines and have taken to shooting them with the crossbow whenever possible. That's how I've dealth with it!

Barons questline as mention above, also in the beginning in the tavern. I also think there are a couple of other places to, but cannot remember it right away.

This is an awesome theory! Makes perfect sense! Should have been a black cat all the time though, but think it's different cats it is focus in on.
