The Alchemist? HELP [POSSIBLE SPOILERS]

The alchemist has no chat option for me. He is the one east of Novigrad, north of Oxenfurt Gate marker, in a house on the hill. I am told he pays full price for trophies and such...

I am on the "get Junior" quest, level 15, but I visited him early, around level 4 as soon as I got dropped into Velen from the palace in Vizima. I am beginning to think that bugged him for me.

Does he have a trigger, or a quest needed to be completed so I can chat with him? or am I just borked?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have. Just to be sure I did it again. He is there during normal hours, but he only has his blue name "Alchemist" above his head, and no white chat text, like everyone else. I can bug everyone else, but he just stands there, silently.

It happened to me too. Just meditate or come back again. It's not permanent. He's not even that special since he only has enough gold to buy 1 trophy (depending on price) at a time.

I have no idea why this happens but this happens to me for random other NPCS as well. Sit there for 5minutes untill your NPC loads the trigger. This has happned to me and Yennifer did not want to open a dialogue. It is a game glitch.

After leaving, returning, and saving repeatedly, he somehow allowed me to talk to him.

Rather annoying.
