Why Witcher's 3 "political incorrectness" is bunch of bullcrap

This is a fantasy world. It has it's own universe. Game is styled on slavic culture, while books use a lot of celtic mythology (For example Ciri's horse - Kelpie). I don't think there were any black people in slavic countries or on British isles. I guess there were arabic merchants from time to time, but they were merchants. Same for Skellige islands. Wanting political correctness in a Witcher universe is idiotic. Do you know why? RACISM IS HUGE PART OF THIS UNIVERSE. As for gay romance, I don't recall instances of it in the books but last time I've read them few was years ago so there might be such a things. The thing is ... Geralt isn't homosexual. I'm not racist, nor homophobic but this political corectness being shoved up my throat makes me want to puke. It makes fantasy universes bland.

Also, while I did not by any means see every city, burg and outpost in The Witcher 3's world in my 70+ hours spent within it, I don't recall a single non-white humanoid anywhere — not in Skellige, Novograd, Oxenfurt or anywhere else. Once I realized this I couldn't stop looking for any example of a person of color anywhere, and I never found it, unless you count naked monster women sitting at the feet of a boss like a slightly more awkward tribute to a Frank Frazetta painting. But maybe they're in there, somewhere.

Also, it's funny how this mentally handicapped "journalist" obviously didn't get the quests he is commenting on. The baron quest was one of the deepest stories I've so far seen in a video game, but of course it only serves to justify wife-beating according to this "journalist".

While I dont like to defend the bunch of idiots that is the PC crowd, I still have to here: The woman in question wasn't fired for not being black, she voluntarily resigned because the debate about her race distracted from their cause, and she didnt wish to harm that cause.


Though it's funny, in my opinion, that an organisation that claims to fight racism would care about her race at all. The correct response from any sane human should have been: "Whatever, she's human." But I guess "sane human" doesn't apply to these people.

We have gay people in real life, as much as you homophobes might hate that idea, it is true and you have to deal with it. The witcher series is based on the middle ages. The only openly gay character you meet in the game has been ostracised for it and considers himself a monster for being gay. If that is what you call pushing the gay agenda, then there is no longer hope for you.

And all of you people making a huge thing about this, just need to stop playing games if it bothers you that much. Homosexuality is part of life, games reflect life for the most part, and it is no longer a taboo subject to be handled with kid-gloves by the studios.

I have yet to play any game that forced the character I was playing to have a gay relationship. I have played games where a gay npc made a pass at the character I was playing, but once I chose to reject them, that part of the game was over.

If you are sure of your own hetrosexuality (which I am) then it shouldn't bother you in the least. It is usually those who aren't sure of themselves who yell the loudest. And it seems there are alot of very vocal and hence unsure of themselves people here at the steam forums.

Very true. It seems to be something very endemic to "gaming culture" (whatever that is, as there's hardly a consensus) in general, especially the games with giant time commitments. I remember pretty much every promotional video on YouTube regarding DA:I, rather than being filled with the usual comments like "omg gr8 grappix" or "RIP my social life," was absolutely swamped in "SJW/gay agenda" garbage, completely failing to realize that that's merely the nature of popular entertainment trying to hit as many bases as possible.
