Brothers in Arms: Skellige - a little help?

I'm trying to find Cerys. The quest says, "Help Cerys unravel the riddle of Udalryk's madness," but I don't get a waypoint for it and I've no idea where to start looking. Crach says she went to some island (I forget the name), but even with him telling me I still have no idea where it is.

I had the same issue with no waypoint. If you go to the island in the screenshot below, and follow the path up the hill toward the yellow marker till you come to a house, you'll find her there and the quest will initiate.

I did this, went back in to get the sword in the basement, but I can't get the quest to progress to defeating the Hym. what the f.

Perhaps (possibly) you didn't select the right quest in the quest menu.

Some of the main quests will be presented as a list of other quests you need to complete.. like a check list. Highlighting this main quest, which would show the "help Cerys" quest doesn't mark anything on your map because as I said, it's just a check list of what quests you need to complete to proceed.

That is because all quests in this checklist will also exist individually on the main quest menu so you have to highlight precisely the one you want to do.
