But, with the right potions and some points in signs you won't see a big differance. But I believe it's a more sword up close and personal armour set.
You don't have to give up on sword gameplay because of alchemy. In fact, I went with Ursine gear + alchemy + sword fight, and it work pretty well. Instead of focusing on bombs, I just invested on oils + mutagens + adrenaline build. You get insane amounts of HP (I'm close to 10K right now), high bonus damage against everything and massive critical hit bonus. The only downside is that you have to spend some time finding/buying every oil recipe and finding every component to create/upgrade them, and you need to change the oil on your sword every time you face a new tipe of enemy, though that's not of an big issue. I don't even bother to use quen or to dodge anymore, as I can kill almost everything right off the bat with a single hit. Plus all the talent points I've put on alchemy basically made potions last more then twice as much.
you can buy all the sets from some herbalist outside oxenfurt? where exactly?
