Nexus Hardcore Mod. Feedback Welcome.
The game here is damn fine but one thing it is absolutely shockingly terrible with balance among its various systems. It seems like no one at CD knows what they are doing when it comes to balance because all of their games have had a lot of problems. They even tried to fix 2 with an unofficial combat mod that did actually improve some things but didn't do much else..

It seems they wanted everyone and their mother to be able to play this game. When you have your highest difficulty being a joke I think it is safe to say we have some major problems.

Luckily, with the modders like Ucross at Nexus and the community feedback we are together trying to fix this while we hope CD is doing work to actually fix it officially. Please endorse this modder's work if you like it. Feedback is welcome and mod is changing weekly. It makes the game very challenging but usually fair on the highest difficulty and not totally laughable on the others.

Obviously, the mod as of now is a work in progress and CD themselves should be making some changes to alleviate the poor gameplay. The hope is we wouldn't even need this mod in the end. Right now it is pretty decent and a lot of feedback has helped shape it, but it is by no means perfect.

Remember, this isn't suddenly going to change your 3/4 done playthrough into something that is totally balanced. Nor is the mod finished and nor can the mod fix everything you want it to. Give some feedback to the modder on the Nexus to help him sort things out until CD does.

I would advise you to load an early save and test the mod out and give feedback and nothing more. That will better help the mod for a full playthrough and you can make sure you even enjoy it.

As if this guy knows anything about balance. "X is OP, better randomly changed it and see what it does". Surely his mod makes the game so much more enjoyable.

As far as I can tell, his definition of hardcore is the good old "attack this drowner 300 times, while it will kill you in one hit". The drowner is still stupid and does the same attack over and over, but now it's True Hardcore Gaming Spirit.

You honestly don't seem to have a clue how this mod works.

"As far as I can tell"... meaning have you played this mod? Are you playing 1.8? What difficulty are you using? If you are not even playing the mod then spare us. Or give feedback.

You honestly sound like some cynical doucher with that post.

This is a community feedback mod not just his own preferences.

It is called Deathmarch for a reason eh?

Rebalance mods are always nergasms. They belong on the shelf where the sexmods go.
I would use this mod if it wasn't for the lvl system being changed.

I really don't dig the fact you can't wear level 31 armors with the mod.
Waiting for a decent 'hardcore' mod myself (unless CDPR pulls something out the bag) but this guy is just shooting from the hip.

Also, don't touch my Gwent cards!

It doesn't seem like any of you even have any clue what you are talking about. This was changed so you can wear the armors in probably the first patch. Again, it's kind of tough to speak about the patch when you haven't tried it but keep on trying I guess.

And no this guy isn't shooting from the hip lol. He is taking feedback and changing the mod on a daily basis.

The Gwent mods are not in this mod anymore

And no it's called building a mod bud. I don't think you get how mods are made. I don't think you get how stats are rebalanced. This is how it works.

This is something CD clearly never did themselves.

I'll take this mod over the godawful balance of the vanilla game any day of the week.

It isn't shooting from the hip when all the OP categories of stats are specifically quartered and changed. That's purposeful.

Couldn't of said it better.

It's not ready for me to try. Perhaps once it's settled down a bit.

Game takes a damn long time to play through and I dont want to be dealing with rebalances which may or may not require me to start a new game each time.

Yeah, no one said it was ready or anything. It's clearly in testing and we are all hoping CD does something about the awful balance in the game themselves.

That being said the mod is very good right now on 1.8c. I still haven't even started a full playthrough lol. I refuse to do so with the awful gameplay as of now.

The onyly thing that you don't get with this mod on a current playthrough is the increased XP to level. Everything else is fine.

Thing is, apart from a few really Op skills which you can avoid. The XP curve is *the* thing which most needs rebalancing. Will keep an eye on this for sure but really, I want CDPR to use some of their influx of cash to throw us a bone here.
Attacking a drowner 300 times while he can kill you in one hit is not true difficulty. It's artificial difficulty and is a disturbing trend among "hardcore gamers seeking more." The mod is crap. Your opinion is crap. Realism is the best form of difficulty because it becomes as easy or as hard as you make it. Which in real life, that's how it works. If I'm a soldier in real life, it doesn't take 4623736547254762 bullets to kill something. True hardcore would be I die in a couple of shots, but so do they. I think a drowner should kill me in 3-4 heavy swings... I mean that's fair. But that clumsy stupid drowner should die in no more than two sword hits.

Please cry more/ Attacking a downer 300 times? Where in this mod do you see any stats that make you attack a downer 300 times?

You are a moron.

You haven't played this mod clearly. But it's okay for you to have an opinion on it I guess.

Let's see. Nerfs bonuses from levelups. Nerfs mutagens even though they're bugged to behin with. Nerfs potions making Alchemy now incredibly useless. Nerfs levelup speed. Nerfs weapon damage. Increases normal enemy health by almost double. Increases boss health by 500%. Did I mention Geralt is further nerfed? Butcher of Blaviken my ass. More like stepping stone of Velen.
