Ведьмак 3: Дикая Охота

Cat School Gear Question
Right, I'm feeling like a lummox here, but I need some help:

I cannot find my way into the catacombs beneath the island to search for the Cat School gear. I've already got a full set of improved Griffin School gear, and intend to stick with it, as I prefer medium armor, but I'm also something of a completionist on Witcher games.

I've tried approaching from above; there's a tower that's locked up, and any attempt to drop onto the quest marker from above causes me to fall to my death.

I've also approached from the sea; I cannot locate any cavern entrance, below water or above, along the coastline within 100 travel marks of the quest marker.

Any help would be appreciated. I know the solution will be obvious once it's pointed out, but I'm stumped.

As you're crossing St. Gregory's, just keep left. Always keep left as you work your way towards the marker. Once or twice you may hit a dead end. If so, backtrack to the main road, then head up it and take the NEXT left. Eventually you'll come to a courtyard. There's a small footpath that snakes out behind a house and continues along the cliffside. This'll take you to the caves.

Inside, you'll have to kill a golem. Once that's done, you'll have to solve a riddle- make sure all the statues face inwards- and kill a few drowners underwater. Clearing the catacombs gets you 4/7 pieces, you'll need to look elsewhere north of the Pontar for the rest.

Not cat its Feline

The gear is termed Feline, but the school it comes from is Cat.

May your penchant for pedantry serve you as well as it has here, given the help you offered in addition to your ultimately useless correction on the smallest of possible terms.

Excellent explanation, and details; think I'll make a go of it. Thank you so much.

Excellent video; I'll try to follow the path suggested.

My jump-rolling always results in my death. I really appreciate the help!
I fell off the cliff and saw the cave, I died, but I did find a small trail behind the houses that had a ledge to drop down, then a trail behind that. did have to find the boat clues first though.
It's technically Lynx School according to the Console.

It's technically Lynx School according to the Console.

Given the lore established by the novels, which precede the games by many, many years (in their original language, anyhow), the school in question is the Cat.

That's what I went with--as I felt it was what most folk would understand.

If I was wrong, I'm open to being corrected, but given the preponderance of the data available, the most readily accessible term was "cat."

That's, y'know, how communication works--what's most likely to be understood, rather than what's technically correct.

My apologies if it feels like I'm biting your head off; it's not you, I promise. I've just had it up to my eyeballs with pedantry as a guise for actual knowledge.

Thanks. Currently pursuing another quest, but I'm going to run down each of these leads until one works. I really appreciate your help!

I'm gushing from the neck.

The sword must be quick, efficient--and precise.

Precision, however, requires not swinging it at the wrong target--and in my ire, I may have done just that.
