how do u give him what he needs? i have the nails and twines but he didnt take them. there was no conversation options for that either.
Yes. I did everything in order.
Anyways if u gave him what he wants, was there anything special? Like rewards or whatever
If this was supposed to be a side mission in the game that they scrapped at some point, they left it in a sorry state, it is really inconsistent in how it works for different persons.
I fully acknowledge I'm necro'ing this thread, but I just finished this quest. The whole Octo nails twine thing really bugs me. In my first conversation with Octo I told him I'd come back for him. Kill the giant, bring back the nails and twine, and he says thanks and sits down again. I don't even have the option of rescuing him. And uh, shouldn't I tell him that he no longer needs to build a ship because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ giant is dead? And why do I still hear the giant moaning in the distance after he's dead?
It's weird, but many Skellige missions and the landscapes seem buggy. HUD pointers aren't appearing, quest threads are wonky, I crashed during the fight with the harpies in the mine...combine that with the god-awful QTEs during the giant battle and it feels like a whole different dev team was working on the Skellige island portion. And not their A team.
The quest is all sorts of buggy though. I ruined it by 1. buying a map froma trader that gave a fast travel point on the island. 2. Going there before initiating the questn "The lord of Undvik" to get the tools for the mastercraftsman quest. So I was getting snippets of quest-related dialogue and cut scenes before it made any sense. And then later when I returned for the quest it was disjointed and weird as a result.
