Do ppl ever use heavy attack?
I prefer not to. It locks me in the animation longer than I want, and the damage doesn't make up for the added risk, I find.

How about you?

EDIT
I play on Death March btw, so I gotta be careful not to stay in combat too long.

All the time.

Beause I don't have any red abilities.

I find the heavy attack to be more useful than the fast actually, but I often mix them up anyway/use what fits the situation.

If I have the time to use it, I mix them in. That is usually how it works...heavy attacks take longer and do more damage.

Heavy attacks ignore armor.

Yes, because it's easy to learn the pattern.

Heavy hit, heavy hit, dodge, heavy hit, heavy hit, dodge.

Heavy attacks are really powerful once you get the related abilities, armor bonuses, and decoctions. I still stayed away from them for 90% of my Death March playthrough because I didn't feel like relying on them and then getting myself animation locked at the wrong time.

i use them when the enemy is stunned or on fire. aside from that i can never get the timing down so fast attack it is. it's not unusual though since i hate slow attacks in almost every game i play.

If you have focused your skills on fast attack there really isn't any point in using the heavy attack at all if you don't have a single skill in that tree. Only time its useful is when you drain an enemy of a stamina and knock out his shield. But even then its just fast to counter his attacks.

Majority of all the monsters in the game are fast attack type, Game pretty much make you use the fast attack all the time.

I play on Death March, I made a red/green (mostly green) build and I'm at the end of the game using only heavy attacks. It made me learn to dodge every enemy in the game because my fast attacks are useless. It can be frustrating sometimes, drowners can jump back five or six times in a row. But it is extremely powerful against big enemies and bosses. I find it better against humans too.

You can just heavy attack nonstop any human without shield till they drop. Once killed a lvl 44 Guard in Radovid assassination (He's the lonely guard that spawn at the entrance, the rest were lvl 30).

Can't remember the name, is that the drain stamina to do 10% Max Vitality on Heavy Attack?

Heavy attack is so popular it doesn't even have a keybinding in default layout.:tgrin:

I refrained from using heavy attack in my game, as I found they were too slow and dealt approximately same damage as fast one, only slower, despite all DPS meters discrepancy. Yet somewhere towards the end, game started to act goofy and turning all fast attacks into strong ones, totalling my attacking habits and timings. :cfacepalm::claugh:

Heavy attack has a better reach and causes some enemies to be interrupted which in some cases is a life saver.
Egro Jun 11, 2015 @ 11:16pm
I don't use Heavy, at all. The last upgrade for your light attack make thing bleed which is pretty funny when I bleed a ghost to dead...With the right timming I can land more than 10 hits with that helicopter skill which pretty much kill almost every thing instantly, it'll take a bit longer for a Golem however. Blood and Broken bone, I'm gonna try it out on death march once I recover from burned out syndrome.
