The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

What happened to Geralt aging?
I might be alone in this, but from following the game before release up until the day it came out I had operated under the assumption that the events of Witcher 3 would span several years if not decades(some of the dialogue also implys a few years have passed from the beginning of act 1 nearing the end of act 3); in a lot of the promo art and footage it looked like Geralt aged/ages. Did anyone else think this would be the case? Like this promo art http://www.gamebanshee.com/images/artwork/gb902_367/The%20Witcher%203%20Wild%20Hunt%20C.jpg

Looks far older than this

And its not just the thickness of his beard which does seem to grow ridiculously fast as you travel around. I was hoping that at least by the end of the game in the end game after the major events I would be able to walk around as way older Geralt like nearing Vesemirs age, but nothing like that seems to happen

I thought we would see a huge time lapse in the final parts of the game, like a closure or what if scenario based upon what ending you got. I thought he was closer to 90-100 years from what the last book says.

i can say it would of been sad though. playing as geralt and see all youre friends grow old and die...
Again... I just explained why this would work a few comments ago...

Yeah it was too rapid in Fable - unless you blitzed through the main story of the game you were an old man by the end...while everyone else didn't age a day...

There's yet to be a game that does it successfully and honestly I don't think there ever will. The best way to implement such a thing would be in a linear fashion where the game is distinctly broken up into acts that take place over a long period of time.
Which is what Witcher does....
Ok but that's a moot point since Geralt doesn't age naturally...
So how old are the main characters supposed to be? I know that Geralt is around 100.

You don't want aging because one game did it poorly and had it implimented in an extreme way? I also just explained how I assumed it would be implimented here...

The Fire Emblem game. You even make kids who become the next generation heroes/heroines.

I would've sworn someone in the game said around 200 but apparently he's like 110 or something like that.

Yen I think I read was like 94, don't know about Triss but the thing with mage chicks seems to be that they use their magic to keep looking young and hot.

Ciri I think it was mentioned is something like 23.

Vesemir is clearly older than Geralt so he's gotta maybe be the one closer to 200.

Vesemir is around 300
Ciri was born in 1251, Yen in 1171, the first game takes places in 1273.

It isn't a moot point. Vesemir is also a witcher and he looks old, because he is. Its not a moot point because Geralt doesn't age normally I just explained how it could work and make sense... Jesus Christ...

It is a moot point.

Disregard your theories about how it COULD work or COULD be implemented - we're not talking about that - we're talking about the aging process of Geralt within the confines of the existing game.

Despite what you may have midsunderstood about the game before I think it's pretty clear that only 6 months have passed between W2 and W3 and the latter DOES NOT cover years and years of time.

That being said, since Geralt does NOT age like a normal human being he would probably NOT show physical signs of aging over a period of a couple years. What we know is that Geralt is a little over 100 years old; however ignoring the white hair he could pass for a man in his late 30s or early 40s. That would mean that he physically ages up to 3 times slower than a normal person.

Vesemir on the other hand looks like he's late 50s/early 60s and apparently he's 300 years old.

wuh?
We assume Geralt is between 80-100 years old, it was never mentioned and it is actually unknown. Vesemir is over 200 years old (it is said in the game).

Time travel, you are still alive, no one become older...nope, not qualify as a good example.

Vesemir is over 200 years old. Not really theories when I know the source material. Events that take place after the conclusion of the final events to the main story you could do anything ranging of any span of years.
