The death touch: Malgorzata Mitręga, the Executive Producer for CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 : “We want to aim for the new players.”
Malgorzata Mitręga, the Executive Producer for CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 :
“We want to aim for the new players.”

She elaborated, “The wider audience, and also the people that know the franchise but who maybe do not play our games.”

What is your copium level for that ?

I think it is the end of the franchise, and CDPR with that. Maybe Cyberpunk 2 will comes out, but after that CDPR will be sold to Tencent or Microsoft, or Sony, or Netflix, i think.

It may be a surprise to you or other people, but that's how franchises are supposed to function. Witcher 2 got more players than Witcher 1, Witcher 3 got more players than Witcher 1 and 2 combined, and so on.

If you want a successful sequel, you have to attract new people. If you aren't aiming for a new audience with every release, you are doing it wrong.

Come on TW3 sold 50 millions copies, it's enough, no ? How many would be sufficient ? 100 millions ?

Time to consolidate the player base instead, no ?

It's never enough for stock market companies.
Their goal is to always expand.
You seem to not understand how capitalism works.

You are talking about Dragon Age the Veilguard, whose producer purchased the mythical 'Modern audience" ? Or Concord, the game for the "modern audience" ? And so on...

you seem to not understand how players "work"

There is no such thing as "consolidating playerbase", because some people who bought that game won't buy the next one for a variety of reasons. It's just statistics.
Every franchise that wants to sustain and grow needs new audiences. I have no idea why are people so up against a basic capitalist principle.

Anyone who didn't play the original for some reason.

No, I'm talking about capitalism, which seeks infinite growth. What are you even on about?

Chase and create quality first and people will notice. Chase people first and quality often becomes a second thought.

An overpriced hero shooter in an oversaturated market and a production hell project of a series that can't find its own identity for years? What about them?
