Sterile Witcher Ciri kills that prospect and is just sad.
And Geralt (and Yennefer, and everybody who cares about her) would be horrified at the thought of her going through the trial of grasses, and becoming a mutant.
Ciri never asked to endure the trial of grasses, nor asked to become a witcher in The Witcher 3. It's Geralt who gave him her sword and dubbed her, that's all.
So Ciri would never do that, she know the pain she would cause to Geralt and Yennefer.
At the moment it's impossible to know exactly what angle CDPR are going with it. All we can do is wait until they provide more details.
But given the ending of Witcher 3, she is a witcher since Geralt gave her a silver sword as a gift. Geralt sees her as a Witcher.
She stole that amulet off of a corpse of someone that was hunting down Witchers.
and i think i have the answer for it, you see they gonna introduce a new villain, the said villain is going to kill Geralt, so ciri feels that she needs to pursue her wannabe father
so she became a witcher and in the process she loses her elder blood
and if thats the story they are going for here , then f@ck cdpr
So The Last of Us 2.5 fantasy edition... That went so well for them too... oh wait.
Hmm is that from the game, I might have missed that conversation. Maybe the potion that she drinks mimicks the effects without her being a true Witcher with the mutations etc. That is huge plot hole if they do decide to ignore it.
The devs also state that Ciri is indeed a full witcher and passed the trials.
How and why will be revealed in the game.
But.. i do also know that the original two sorcerers that made the first witcher's gave up on using girls because they all died while 1/2 or 2/3 of the boys died. So they just worked on making it more tailored to men since they were the survivors.
So a woman witcher is maybe a possibility but no one has yet stacked enough little girl bodies to climb up on and find the answer.
Also I'm pretty sure the original reason for what came to be called the trial of the grasses was to give anyone the ability to use magic, seems kinda stupid to take some one who can use magic and make them again into someone who can use magic.
All known attempts at making female Witchers failed though.
But these girls didn't have Elder Blood and special powers like Ciri does.
I have no problem with this if it's well explained in the game.
And Witchers are infertile. They can't reproduce.
She also always admired Geralt and his Witcher friends. Kaer Morhen became her home. She wanted to be like them. She hated how her father (Emhyr) treated her. She was not interested in becoming an Empress or a puppet of Sorceresses/Wild Hunt.
