Skip the insults, the OT and the real world politics.
Other than that it's fine.
Also, note: original post was wiped -because- of politics. Not direction of politics. Thank you.
I feel that though. I love the idea of Ciri as the next protagonist, and that trailer got me freakin HYPED man. BUT, I do have some concerns in context with what we know or have been told about the lore.
What I don't want CDPR to do, is pretend the lore doesn't exist and just sweep it under the rug. That's the easy and lazy way out. I want them to find a way for her to become a witcher WITHIN established lore of either the books or their games.
And I already have some ideas that they could do. They have ways to do this, and it make sense within the game. So we will see what they do here. As long as they don't just say, "Ciri is a witcher because we say she is" and actually explain how and why it happens, I'm all for it.
Super hyped for this game, and I am also curious as to Geralt's role too. I assume he will be a Vesimir-esque character for Ciri? I just wish we had a rough idea for a release date. Not even a date, at least a YEAR would be nice.
Exactly.
Geralt is pretty much a textbook Mary Sue in the sense that he's THE quintessential Witcher, who's better, faster, stronger in every way than his fellow Witcher compatriots but he gets a pass solely because he's a man. Like he's literally and canonically a Witcher among Witchers in that he aced an stronger, enhanced version of the trial of grasses (that literally nobody else could survive) which turned his hair white. He's THE most perfect Witcher.
But again, Geralt doesn't get accused of being a "Mary Sue" because he's a man. But Witcher Ciri? Oh nonononono, SHE has a "Mary Sue" problem now.
Lmfao what? We talking about the same Ciri?
Y'know, the same Ciri that literally resigns herself to her death in one of the endings fighting the White Frost because you made the worst choices as Geralt and effectively ruined her self-esteem/confidence? The same Ciri that spent over half the game running from Eredin and the WIld Hunt trying to claim her powers (instead of felling them in one, whole swoop) and in the end needed Geralt and friends to defeat? Yeah, a total Mary Sue that one. Perfect and flawless as can be.
