Nevertheless, plot holes are already visible from the trailer, for example, Ciri drinking elixir and having cat's eyes (wtf??? she has never undergone mutations, her body will not withstand it physically). So you can see the attitude of new developers towards lore.
I agreed its people who make great games not brands, Bioware means nothing these days, but they didnt just become garbage company in instant it was long road of wrong choices, if leading is strong, company can hire new talents and guide them to make something amazing or horrible if delusional people are in charge, Larian who made Baldurs Gate 3 clearly not same company that released Divine Divinity in 2002.

As long as people like this run company i see no reason to expect another Veilguard.
I part me was actually hoping they would have brought her back as a playable character. Especially when only getting taste of her ability's in the Witcher 3.
Seemed like she also spent most of her life running, so she never even had much of a life. So can finally get a chance to experience one with her. With Geralt being on the side lines helping her adapt to her new life. As long as it has good writing like the rest of games should be a good game.
i would have rather had a new story with new characters since the old characters stories are done and over with and it was nice and wrapped up in a neat little package. now we've got Ciri back as a macguffined witcher just because, even though
1. the trial wouldn't have been performed by any of the witchers, who all stated how against it they were.
2. Ciri would have most likely survived the trial, but would amount to what is a vegetable or severely crippled similar to avalach( an elf by the way who was severely altered beyond repair by the trial)
3. Ciri didn't need witcher powers as she already had her cool elderblood powers.
4. drinking the potions would destroy her insides or hurt her as she wouldn't be able to undergo the trial. She's simply too old by TW3:WH. the mutagens wouldn't take.
Now i have seen some criticisms i deem a bit unfair.
1. she's not ugly, she looks fine enough, not to mention its not like she looks like gorlock the destroyer, or the ♥♥♥♥ that happened to the chick from horizon. a big win for us is that she at least looks female.
2. she's clearly older and a different voice actress is fine, even though i prefer the last one.
i wont' buy it on launch, most likely get it on sale if it turns out good, but i don't think it will, too many changes that don't make sense will most likely leave it dead on arrival.
Knowledge of the Trial of Grasses has been lost. Only male children have ever undergone it, an adult, let alone a female, would probably not have as much chance surviving due to the intense physical and chemical changes. Youth in general have more robust physiology. Lastly, Ciri is already OP. She’s perfect as she was in 3, and it doesn’t make sense to nerf her by making her a witcher.
