I'm at a loss about Deadly Precision perk.........
OK, so, I ASUUMED (and people on the internet said so too) that it's not working with boss enemies (i.e. white health bar on top of screen).

Yet, very peculiar thing just happned. I killed Ancient Leshen boss (In the Heart of the Woods) with 1 hit while he was at about 82% health. So this couldn't be critical strike or something like that.

I'm lvl 28 witcher, leshen was lvl 22. So, what the hell is going on?

  • Deadly Precision works with bosses??
  • Does it only work with bosses that are lower level then the witcher?
  • Does it work on red skull bosses/enemies?

Anybody have acces to source code to confirm this?

The amount of mechanical inconsistencies in this game is starting to drive me mad.

Deadly precision increases adrenaline point gain and if I remember correctly, the only ability that also increases the chance of killing an opponent instantly. Which works the best on enemies around your level and especially lower leveled enemies.

If you have deadly precision combined with some other abilities that also increases adrenaline point gains, it becomes much more powerful. Not to mention if you learn abilities that increase damage and the chances of landing a critical hit. Which in turn increases the chances of taking down the non-contract "boss level" monsters you can run into in the wild and also the ones related to contracts. Furthermore the use of the correct potions, oils and bombs, in addition to the use of signs gives your abilities even more advantages. I should also mention your equipment (swords & gear) and that of your enemies should also be taken into consideration.

Depending on the combination above you can take down monsters several levels above yours, but not so much with red skull enemies since there are mechanics that restrict you from defeating them too easily.

However, can't say the skill applies when it comes to the 'ultimate boss' fights, like members of the witch hunt, a monster in the Hearts of stone DLC and a certain someone in Blood on wine DLC.

I may be wrong but this is the conclusion I reached while exploring abilities and different builds.

And, if you're referring to the white bar above your health bar, that is your experience progression. However, if you are referring to the greyish bar above your enemy in groups of three, that would be the adrenaline slots (landing successful attacks will result in adrenaline gain while taking damage will decreases your adrenaline) which is essentially fuel for your abilities. If you want to read more about it I suggest you google "adrenaline bar"

Hm, I guess "ultimate bosses" are ones that are important for the story? Hm....

I mean bosses with white healthbar in the middle upper part of the screen.

Correct. My apologies I should have been more specific but yes, those would be the ones related to your main quests of the game and dlc's.

Then I believe you are indeed referring to the adrenaline bar.
