Saving "witches" that are burned at the stake.
Is this a thing? In Novigrad: By accident I annoyed guards near an execution, after I killed them a cut scene played and the guy that was to get burned thanked me but Gerald knew him I think and there was bad blood between them, idk.
I don't think there was a mark on the map of any kind and it wasn't a quest aswell.
This was just outside of one of the main gates.

When I arrived in Novigrad for the first time they where going to burn 1 guy 1 girl, now I wonder if I could have saved them if I had fought the guards.

As far as I know, the one outside that gate was the only execution that you can actually interrupt while it's actually in progress.

You don't remember the guy? The bad blood between Geralt and the mage was because the guy was a d*ick to Triss. Remember the masquerade party? Triss warned him about the witch hunters and wanted to help him escape from Novigrad with the rest of the mages & sorceresses, but he adamantly refused. Was a total d*ick about it because Triss and him have history.

If you save him, he regrets how he behaves, if you don't interfere he burns. There are few executions revolving mages, sorceresses, herbalists, humans and non-humans, but the ones you witness first when entering Novigrad is a scripted cutscene, it cannot be prevented.

Ahh that guy, now I wish I had let him burn. I felt second hand jealousy for Gerald at that incident at the party haha.

To be fair I do a looot of side quest I feel so everything is becoming a blur lol.

Idk I'm lvl 21 now and still haven't been in Skellige, I feel that's really slow hehe.

Yes, 'that' guy. Pompous ass. To be even more fair, he was wearing a mask, lol. No worries though, next time you can let him burn like he deserves.

For that very reason humans and non-humans more often than not think of him as a monster. In my opinion though, most have it coming. If anything, Geralt is doing the world a favor by chopping and slicing, cutting and dicing as the song goes.

Most of the people that Geralt kills in TW3 are bandits of some sort or another, at least.

There is one scene that I can recall where one of your allies in the fight is yelling something like "we need one of them alive" (for interrogation) while you have exactly zero ways of actually taking anybody prisoner, haha. Fairly sure that nothing will change with how that scene plays out even if you limit yourself to using non-damaging bombs and to Axii in an effort to not actually kill the attackers.

There's a few guys who die to Geralt because... well, it really was a prank of sorts and that's unfortunate, but those are exceptions.

He's famously one of the best swordsmen ever in the continent (although not even close to a match when dueling Vilgefortz one-on-one...). You'd think that most bandits would quickly figure out that he's not easy prey and would quickly run for their lives, but... no.

Yeah everyone seems to know him but everyone also attacks him lol.

Well idk about only bad guys, maybe it's me but my Gerald kills everything hahaha
