You know you're taking this game too seriously when............
I get really pissed off at the game trying to almost force a romantic relationship with Shari on Geralt. Enough already - just effing stop it. Like many people, I finished the main campaign before really getting into this dlc and I've already made a romantic decision (Triss in my case). The game should bloody well know this based on my past conversation choices and just let it be but noooooooo...................... did they hire some Ubisoft writers for this portion of the game ? Oh wait no.......... if it were Ubisoft writers they'd be throwing men at me.

It's funny. I played the 'Legend of the First Blade' dlc for AC Odyssey and when my wife croaked I was like, "OK then." But with this game I'm actually mightily upset that the devs have literally removed characters from my life, most importantly the woman I'm supposedly hooked up with. Better writing and character development I guess; they were becoming almost semi-real to me and I gave a crap. But having said that, CDPR really screwed the pooch here imho. There should be a conversation option for "I'm taken."

There is a way to avoid the kissing scene with Shani, see link below... also if it makes you feel any better about the situation, you can just blame Vlodimir for initiating the whole thing not Geralt.

If you don't let yourself be immersed in a story-heavy game, what's even the point of playing? Might as well read a book.

The point is that there is no story driven path that allows you to not have the relationship forced on you when you have already made a story driven choice to be in a relationship with another NPC.
The OP doesn't want Geralt to be a cheater just to follow the side story.

I should've clarified: that was aimed at the "taking the game too seriously" bit. If you don't take it seriously and let yourself be immersed, what's even the point?

I was mentioning this to my wife this morning, (She's Played the other games and read the books whilst I’m a new comer to the game, been on my wish list for ever) How thus far the only thing that I really don't like was the "Romance" of the game. One moment I'm flirting with Trish, then meet up with Jen again and acting like a lost puppy in heat. Some of the dialogue choices were pure cringe. Bar that really enjoying the game.

Trish? Jen? Are those prostitutes from those clubs?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I think I wound up kissing her once but I didn't make a fuss over it. It didn't seem avoidable...... damn you Vlodomir !!! I brought her a bottle of mead, half hoping she'd drink herself unconscious.

Cool to see that I'm not the only player who got a bit pissy about this lmao.
