Veni Vidi Vigo game breaking bug

I got to the part where you have to get on the emperor's ship and now I can't get on it because I'm not being allowed to climb the anchor. I've tried all of the anchors on the ship, tried above water, under water, etc. It won't let me climb the anchor. Any help at all? I'm stuck here

Yeah, that gave me problems at first, too. All I can tell you is you have to hit the climb point just right when you interact with it and it will automate and let you up. It can be frustrating but it will work when you hit the right spot. Perservere....perservere.

I'm completely stuck here too. I can't even get the anchor to come up with an interaction notice, no matter what I do. I've made it to the anchor without alerting any guards ... no luck. I've tried alerting the guards then diving until they lose me, but they never "stand down". How do I get the anchor to activate?

You have tried all the little tricks,verfied integrity of game cache, re-booted Steam and your computer ? One time I hit right away , another time I had to swim around for quite awhile.

Actually here's the trick: find the right anchor! It turns out that very close to the right one is another boat with a slightly lowered anchor that is also in darkness. You can stand on it or swim around all night, but it won't activate because it's not the right one :)

I had to watch a video online to see that while within the quest area, I wasn't in exactly the right spot. And since you can't look up very far while swimming (stupid UI design) it's hard to tell one boat from another.
