Favorite re-shade/graphics tweak mod?
I tried messing around with any number of re-shade mods on The Nexus, from Drogean's E3FX to chakra1187's CineFX and a handful of others. Not only did they significantly neuter performance, they actually managed to make the game look even WORSE than vanilla, most just tinting the game to an unhealthy shade of blue and washing out the picture. I was about to give up when I stumbled on this: http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/132/?

The "Real E3 2014 Look," coupled with the creator/uploader's improvement's to the game's textures and animations by editing the user.settings file makes the game look absolutely mind-blowingly amazing. Gone are the oversatured colors of the vanilla game but also missing is that horrible blue hew. And while the performance hit is significant, it's still nowhere near as bad as any of the above mentioned. I'm honestly comfortable saying other the game is "close enough" to the E3 demo to no longer warrant the word "downgrade." It's that good.

The other 3 mods in the suite are pretty great too, with the medieval one having essentially no performance hit yet still managing to make the game look better than vanilla. The bonus pre-set with the cutscene lighting mod also has no performance hit and makes the game look more than a little similar to TW1 ;). Overall, I can't recommend these enough.

What about you? Are you using a reshade mod right now? Which one?

I do reshade, I am using the uber fidelity suite 2 UBER version. It's the closest it can get to the demos, sadly this doesn't the particle,teselation the game had before.

Why did the sign effects had to get downgraded to this --> http://i.imgur.com/XP2z1M4.gif

It's ultimately because consoles can't handle the exigencies of Physx. :-/

:( indeed :::((((

I hope the redkit can fix some issues, I will fix some of the ♥♥♥♥ rock textures.

I've tried UBER and I still think the "Real E3 2014 Look" I linked above looks better...

Did you also try the user.settings tweaks, namely these:
To increase texture quality in gameplay and cutscenes

Add these lines in user.settings using a text editor:
[Streaming/Textures]
UseMipRefiner=true
CinematicModeMipBias=-0.3

To smoothen animations in gameplay

Add these lines to user.settings
[Behavior]
AnimatedComponentUpdateFrameSkip=false
SuppressAnimatedComponent=false

To alleviate the pop-in of characters in the game

Change these lines in user.settings
DecalsSpawnDistanceCutoff [from 10 to 20]
TextureStreamingHeadsDistanceLimit [from 10 to 20]
TextureStreamingCharacterDistanceLimit [from 50 to 100]

To remove the shimmering from Ultra Textures (as of patch 1.04)

change TextureMipBias from -1 to -0.7.

Of course it can't fix the cruddy particle effects and SOME of the worst textures (like the rocks, bleh!) but it looks way better still.

I have tried these settings, I've seen some fps drop but it's not worth it. Better wait til REDkit :D

Only the reduced pop-in settings affect performance; everything else improves the image without an FPS impact.
Deadbubble Aug 4, 2015 @ 1:00pm
I wish I could get this, but I hover around 50-60 FPS as is, with Foliage distance set to high, I believe.

The Medieval, VGX and cutscene lighting/preset give no FPS hit, and imo they all look better than vanilla. The 'Real E3 2014' does give a 3-8 FPS hit but it makes the game look stunning; well worth it, imho.

Also, remember that you can turn down shadows with virtually no visual impact but major FPS gains.
Deadbubble Aug 4, 2015 @ 1:17pm
Alright, I'll keep those two in mind. I also have shadows down to the minimum. There is almost no difference between the settings, strangely enough.
