How to get stuff for ThunderBolt Potion

I seem to be stuck. It asks me to brew the thunderbolt potion to kill the Griffin. I don't have the items required to brew it. I'm using an xbox controller. It's telling me to open the game menu. It won't even do that.

I loaded an earlier save, then re-did a quest right before that and I'm still stuck. I know I risk sounding like a total noob. Where exactly do I get the stuff for thunderbolt potion.

Actually vesamir gives u 3 potions. They should be in your inventory. Green colored. As far as getting ingreidients for them it's just like any potion, need to find the herb's and get the other things from loot. Also there a herbalists that will sell u ingriedients if u need them.

You shouldn't need to actually brew it... Vesemir gives it to you and it should be in your inventory after you talk to him outside the inn and leave to fight the griffin.

1 x Endrega Embryo

the herbalist probably have them
cortinarius you can find plenty of them between her place and the village

That's the part that's odd. I didn't have brew it in my first playthrough but before I start the mission a little menu pops up, asks me to brew the potion. I can't seem to bypass that little screen. I tried it twice, doing it on an earlier save. I suppose I have find the stuff for it to complete that mission.

hm strange... I only did this about half an hour ago and I remember it saying something about receiving the formula for thunderbolt... went to brew it and it said I already have it.

I used my thunderbolt potions accidentally and by the time I realized it, I didn't feel like reloading a save. So, I had to find all the ingredients and make some more.

I thought I was using a different potion and was using up my Thunderbolt potions instead. Doing!! Live and learn, and I keep a handy sheet of paper with my Keyboard shortcuts written on it now.

'Twould be nice if the devs had put little letter "icons" on each area of the hud so I'd know which keys used which potion or item, etc. The option to toggle those on and off would be nice too, for those who don't like extra clutter onscreen.
