Active Shield: Quen Sign - Healing not working?
"Damage absorbed by the shield restores player vitality."

Is this broken & not working for anyone else?

It was fine last night & yesterday but now suddenly it heals for what seems like 1% which is just useless or not at all. Even using Petri's Philter makes no difference with the Griffin School Techniques skill too. No point in even using it or wasting skill points in it.

Was this also nerfed? (apparently Igni was & nothing was said about it officially)

Depends on what is hitting you.. Some enemies/attacks carry little thump to absorb but they strip the shield off anyway.
Also if the damage is more than the shield can take, the excess is on you. So you can still get killed while holding quen up if you get lumped hard enough

Test it on various foes before you panic

Do you just hitting "Q" or actually pressing it for a few secs? It actives different kind of that sign.

I have been while playing. Wolves, humans, wraiths, elementals, endregas & arachasae. I'm in Skellige atm. Very rarely have I noticed it not healing me before, but today it's been constant. Maybe a restart of the game will fix it.

Yeah I know, can't really miss the giant orange glowing orb. This is my 4th PT. Been using last night & yesterday fine (& before). Suddenly today multiple times it seems to not work or heal for what seems like 1% HP. Never seen it act this way before.

Hopefully it's just random & only happening to me. Gonna test it out again, it's just very odd. I wondered if it was a certain combo of skills but I haven't changed anything, same armour & weapons, no additional glyphs or runes added to anything, not using any different potions, etc to before.

Yrden with Aard is awesome!

Could be just a temporary thing.. I runed up a Harvall steel sword yesterday. It had 9% chance to burn and 15% chance to bleed.. Nothing special but I thought I'd test it anyway.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing set everything of fire, first hit. The numbers still said 9% burn but the results were more like 90%
I ran around with it for a while feeling all mighty as Gandalf but the next day upon booting it back up. It was as unreliable as one might expect for 9%.
Dissasembled it already and wen't back to my old blade.

I have one of those in my stash, gonna have to try that out, sounds fun. I was hoping to find a higher level one to test it out so I kept it as a reminder. I like the sword with 35% bleed, but if I craft it the buff is lower (don't remember the name). I'm gonna add some of those burning runes to my wolven silver sword when I get it. Another I haven't yet tried out much is the sword that Lambert gives you later in the story. It has a high stagger effect.

I wouldn't mind if the active shield only healed during sunlight hours then at night it still stayed active as the orb, but just with out healing. I'd kind of accept that more. The enemies were levels 15, 18, 20, 23 & 30. I'm level 23 atm so I can understand it not healing as much from the lower level enemies.
