How to make use of Black Blood potions?
The description says it deals damage back to Necrophages and Vampires when you take damage. That's awfully specific, and you usually don't plan around getting hit especially on harder modes. How do you make use of it?

Put points into Alchemy and turn it into HP Potion (i.e. restore up to 25% max Vitality when drink).

It does what it says....its like "in case" you get hit, might as well get something out of it

You never PLAN on getting hit, but sometimes you do. Upgraded Black Blood can basically win a vampire fight by itself- every time the vamp hits you, it takes damage, gets stunned, and knocked back. Very useful.

Nekkers like to gang up on you so I use it then all the time. It like Gritsunorak says "Just in case you get hit"

Is it at least high damage and not just something negligible?

Mmm i believe it depends on the difficulty and the level of the potion. ThatRabidPotato said that it also knocks them back, potentially breaking their combos.

Ill say this, Ill never use it as a killing method (like letting them kill you on purpose) but I have space in my toxicity bar, or I'm doing badly, getting hit often, I'll take it.

I suppose there can be good combos out of the alchemy tree, like turning it into an HP potion as well, but its not my build, so can't help you here

Also keep in mind that the max-tier potions are OP. Superior Black Blood deals damage to Vamps and Necrophages as long as they're nearby, they don't even have to hit you first. You can literally just stand in a group of drowners and kill them.

Nekkers aren't even Necrophage/Vampires...or does Black Blood actually affect more than just these two? Some of the other skill text in the game is incredibly vague or just wrong, so that was also part of why I asked here just to be sure.

Nekkers are indeed NOT necrophages. Black Blood shouldn't work on them, but hey, it is a videogame, and videogames have bugs :p Or perhaps he meant drowners?
