Matches Count Error??
Lovely... now I can't even play The Witcher 3.

Anyone else getting this error on startup?

its been mentioned already.....
go to bin / 64
and change dsound.dll to dsound2.dll
that gets rid of the error message

I had the same "Matches Count Error" after installing the patch. Thank you "rhme" for the fix. It worked for me!

On my Win8.1 64bit Professional PC I put the console into the folder, couldn't start, dl Visual Basics but can only install vcredist_x64 - not the other two files. Anyway, The Witcher does not run anymore! Can somebody help? I am using Witcher with Patch 1.08

Did you find a solution? It is simple: DO NOT KLICK "OK" - simply WAIT. The game will start perfectly normal after a while!
