The Final Trial trolls bug. (Potential Spoilers)
I just got to the quest "The Final Trial" during the main quest "Ugly Baby". I reached the part where you encounter 3 trolls. In order to not have to fight them you can leave your weapons with them while you go to the Circle of Elements. However, as soon as I leave my weapons and the conversation ends, they all run around screaming "Cheaty Witcherses!" then attack me. Since I left my weapons, I have to punch them. I have reloaded saves and nothing helps. Has this happened to anyone or is this a nice new 1.07 bug I've found?

Same here (I have it on GOG), also tried reloading but to no avail. I supose I'll have to kill them, which is a shame because I've avoided killing as many trolls I could during my playthrough

Same. Its not exactly a game breaking bug, but if your roleplaying a more thoughtful, not killing things that arent "evil", kind of Geralt then its a story breaking bug. I really really dont want to kill them :( They even avoid messing with the witcher castle and avoid bothering people..

YESI have a way around the bug! I had the same problem but I have a way to work around it. After you give the Trolls your swords two of the Trolls run up hill and one stays behind and goes red-aggro. Don't attack him just axii him then run up to the Circle of Elements till the cut scene starts from there you are set. You don't have to kill the Trolls and once you are done at the Circle of Elements you'll get your swords back in another cut scene but don't stay behind go right back to Kaer Morhen with Lambert.

Well I thought, just maybe its because I'm still wearing my now overleveled feline swords, so I took them off... but no. Your way works fine Nimja, axii not necessary, but still works just so long as you ignore and make a beeline for the circle. Thx for the info Nimja.

@Nimja has it right.

This is no bug. Geralt tells Lambert that for his trial, 2 trolls were busy adn he used Axii on the 3rd. It looks like this was the plan, and not a glitch.

Oh its a bug, when you get done with the mission and retrieve your swords, the troll is all calm during the cutscene. If you opt to stay and look around, hes auto hostile still and immediately smacks you in the face, hence why Nima said to go back with Lambert. I also found out that the other 2 ARE hostile. Its just that their AI forces them to go up the hill. If you circle around and sneak up there they are red on the map. Also, during one of my reloads, Lambert was punching one of them for some reason when i made my break for the circle... moron.

It's no biggy tho, because as long as you don't kill them, the game still considers you to have opted for the nice approach. If you sprint toward the circle fast enough that Lambert follows without engaging in the first troll he will start a conversation about how Witchers are supposed to kill monsters and those trolls were monsters blah blah blah. I did get that part of the conversation where he tells Lambert about using axii on a troll, but I'm still pretty sure its a bug. Would need someone else who did this before the patch or something to comment on if this is the way its always been.

It's a bug. It's suppose to happen this way, start watching at 22 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mqlbBi222I

The first time I gave them my swords and the bug happened I couldn't get my swords back after defeating/slaying them.

Also I highly doubt the plan was to fight 3 Rock Trolls with their barefists. heh

I just got to this part, too, and gave up my swords so I wouldn't have to fight them, but they automatically aggro after the cutscene. At first I thought it was because of another bug I've encountered where Geralt, for some reason, unsheathes his sword after dialogue, which makes guards angry, but I don't see Geralt unsheathing anything or punching the air (than I can tell). So I guess the trolls are bugged. I'm going to try casting axii and running up the hill, then see if the regular non-hostile cutscene triggers on the way back down.

this bug start for me on 1.07, on previous patches it was ok

I just ran up the hill to the Circle of Elements and triggered the next cutscene, and then Lambert and Geralt automatically go back down (in cutscene) and collect their swords from the trolls (also in cutscene). I then agreed to return to Kaer Morhen with Lambert, thus avoiding combat with the otherwise hostile trolls...

Just encountered this bug for the first time (4th playthrough). I think this is my first time doing this part on 1.07 but I could be wrong.
