Good healing potions?
Never used many potions to heal, but restarting on blood N bones. So since I cant meditate. What are some convient options to use? And where would I obtain the recipe?

For early game swallow and food are your only real options. Later on Ekhidna decoction + the whirl fast attack ability is god mode

Who needs healing potions when you can drink wine and eat chicken while fighting monsters? :Toxic_Geralt:

Potions are pretty crappy until upgraded and you won't be getting the recipes for that till down the line so use quen shield absorb where practical.
As for items, go with one food item and a drink as you can use both at the same time.. Like a water and raw meat.
Water lasts longer so you might use 2 or 3 raw meat in the time it takes for water to wear off.

Fo' reals tho, look into that sustained shield ability. If you are a walking punch bag, food and drink will run out early game. You will want to learn how to use enemies to heal you after spanking you. Save up those ability points and find some places of power.
You can always look them up online if you are one of 'those' people.. Personally I would never do that but to each his own.

Na, this game to much fun to not spend endless time roaming. I just found doing that was going to make game to easy. So started over. Only guide help I got was how to not miss out on gwent cards

It goes without saying that if you are a stun locked punching bag for mobs, then you need better tactics, not better food options, but I will say it anyway. That needs to come first.

I just finished a full playthrough on blood and broken bones ver 1.02. While I had access early on to Superior Swallow and Superior White Raffords Decoction, and would use them only on rare occasions, I was a happy, healthy food user right through to the final battle and this food spreadsheet page gave me better options that I was not aware of:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SgLpfbcRPALRLTU6anJz8Z4tuij4TgthOjDQaWOKGm0/pubhtml

I used a 5 or 10 second food/drink in one slot and a 20 or 30 second drink in the other and could use them both at the same time, even in battle! Don't try to use a 5 and a 10 second food item at the same time, it is a waste. Same with 20/25/30 second drinks. Drink one or the other, not both at the same time. For general running around I usually had a cheap and plentiful 5 second food (Raw Meat) and water or even beer equipped, in battle I had milk, cow or goat, and Toffi or Grilled Pork or Roasted Chicken. One food and one drink at the same time gets you 190 Health Points per second, Superior Swallow gets you only 120 AND 20 points of toxicity, yuk.

Usually the better foods and milk were available at most inns, if I didn't have any, and you could exit/re-enter inventory with them and they would be restocked. Toffi was available at the Passiflora, the classy brothel, in Novigrad.

About to start a Death March game and you can bet I will be chowing down again, lol.
