i do not think there is one for this game on steam
There isn't a CD Key for this game from Steam.
Why you looking for a CD Key anyways?
I got a code to redeem with but its still and steam digital copy.
i heard that if you use your steam key on gog you get a free drm copy of the witcher games ive tried it with the witcher 1 game and can confirm it works also works with the witcher 2 so i was looking for my witcher 3 key to check if that works on gog aswell because usually they give you a free gog copy thats drm free aswell.
I don't they've done it for Witcher 3 yet. Ideally it was for W1 and W2 to enable a discount for W3 if you owned the previous games thus making the purchase on GOG.

I don't beleive CDPR has plans for redeeming CD keys on GoG for Witcher 3. I'm not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure CDPR even said that prior to launch.

Perhaps they'll allow it in the future, not the near future though.

The game is DRM free on all platforms and all versions (GoG, Steam, digital, boxed). But from what you're saying, if you provide the CD key for Witcher 3, they'll give you a copy of Witcher 1 and 2 for free?

That's the first I've heard of this. The discount, as stated by Eagle, is the only thing I've seen but a free copy? No, don't think so.

no i am saying that if you have the steam version of witcher 1 or witcher 2 and you copy the keys of those games on gog you get a free drm copy of witcher 1 or if you put witcher 2 key you get a free copy of 2 i was asking for witcher 3 key to try it aswell

I believe he means that you can redeem Witcher 1&2 keys on GoG. And was wondering if it's possible to do so on Witcher 3.
i thought there was a deal that if you bought witcher 3 you get the others either free or for a steeply discounted price. could be wrong though
That only works for first two games. They didn`t say anything about witcher 3 though. Maybe after some time is passed steam users get gog version as well like the first two games/
so once steam has installed the witcher 3 I dont need steam at all to play it?

I didn't realise steam can distribute games that do not require steam to play, unless it uses Uplay or something.

I bought my game from a retailer store because I got a poster with comic book and extra cool stuff of the game. The CD Key does not work on steam sadly because it is a GOG key. Download GOG Galaxy and enter your CD Key in there and the game will be unlocked there. Their software is cool. Gives you all the latest updates on the game, achievements, hours played. The layout is much better than steam. Plus you can download all the extras off GOG like language packs and extra stuff like wallpapers etc.

You'd be surprised at how many games on steam are DRM free. http://steam.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games Not sure when the last time that list was updated.
Prior to launch of the game, on the GoG.com pre-order page for Witcher 3 there was a FAQ and there was a question about the backup program that they did for Witcher 1 and 2, and the answer was they had no plans to extending that backup program to Witcher 3.

Steam and GoG are not interchangeable. They are not allowing anything to cross those platforms, as they are in direct competition with each other. If you've managed to do this in the past, I'm fairly certain you won't be able to do so again. Not with Witcher 3.

Yeah, currently anybody who owns Witcher 1 and or 2, they can get a backup from GoG.com, they just need to enter their CD key, even from Steam, to get that backup. But yeah, they have no plans of extending that backup program for Witcher 3.
