Level down using debug console.
Hi,

Yesterday I downloaded the debug console for The Witcher 3, just to try things out. I leveled myself up from 25 to 70, and got some really cool gear. However, I am way to overpowered now and I would like to go down to level 25 again (Ill go up to level 70 once im done with the game). I can bascially one/two hit kill every monster i encounter during the story quests, and they arent very appealing once I am so powerful. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to level down again? I want to play The witcher 3 like it is supposed to be played :D

Btw if anyone is wondering, im playing on GOG.

I made a backup save though before I did this, so I dont lose anything except for the OP gear I got.

Though still since some of it was hard to get, I dont want to lose it.

What would you need the gear for anyway, didn't it scale to a crazy level?

OP, you know if you wanted to be able to deal with tough bosses, you didn't really need to go all crazy to level 70. You could have just used God mode for those fights and removed it afterwards without touching your actual level.

Now you're pretty much going to have a mess on your hands.

Also I'm pretty sure that once you reset everything, you'd lose not only your gear but all of your upgrades as well. It basiucally resets everything back to the beginning so saving won't help you. If you want the stuff back, you'll have to reload your level 70 save to get them back.

No danger, I made a backup before I did all this :D. Im playing the game now normally and instead of increasing my level from 25-70, I took my level from 25-26 so I could wear the superior feline armors that I crafted.

You are speaking about this god mode. I tried it though I couldnt revert back. What is the command on the console for disabling god mode?

You do understand you can't just...step into your other save and take the armor from that one to your current save, right?

This thread was dead for like 2 months now, I wouldn't even expect this to pop up again.

I know this game is old (I just started this game for my first time) but you can just put everything in the stash and use cleardevelop to reset and just retrieve your items. Only thing I am worried about is some quest stuff I couldn't transfer over. Just posting this in case some poor chap is in this situation and googles it a year from now :D.

Wait, there is one way but you probably won't like it:

cleardevelop

It resets Geralt to level 1, gives you starting gear and resets everything else too. So honestly, you're just better off just starting a new game.

in principle he could cleardevelop and step up to lvl 25 and hunt down all item codes and quest and story flags to add :p or borrow saves from other people.

Sorry to bring this alive but I'm surprised no one mentioned this. Just type setlevel(#) replacing the # with the level number. It will set your character to any level you want. Yes your gear will stay at the level it was before, but you can always use a console command to respawn it so it will be at the appropriate level.

simple way....you drop all your ♥♥♥♥ or put it in a stash then reset your character then level him back to 25 or just turn on level scaling that way the enemies kick your ass
It amuses me to imagine just how much has happened in the real world between the time this thread was created and revived
i know this is kind of late, but all you have to do is use the setlevel(25) to go back to lvl 25.
And yes, the command was there too back in 2015

you haven't even tested it. It doesn't work for lowering your level.

Cleardevelop was mentioned earlier. With original cleardevelop functionality, which sets you at level 1, you can then console whatever you need and setlevel(#).

And instead of downscaling yourself, he could just upscale the enemies instead.
