the crystal skull in the begining of the crow?

anyone here pick this thing up its that skull from the cutscene in the begining were yennefer is running. apparantly you could pick this thing up when you take control of geralt but i didnt realise this im still on my first playthrough and quite far into the game but i cannot go back to pick this thing up for those that have what significance does it have to the story and what does it do?

I don't think it really matters. When you meet up with Yen in Skellege, you just give it back to her and talk to her about what it is/does. That's it as far as I know. I don't think it did anything else.

She basically just tells him that it's a weapon, as you saw in the video.

It doesn't matter, I played 180 hours and to my knowledge it won't affect anything.
