I think vitality is better

do you happen to know how much damage armor mitigates?

300 vitality is nothing really, check your character screen to see your total health, at that level it should be over 5000 or something. Check out say the cat armor set (level 14 ish) which you can then upgrade to the enhanced cat armor set (20 ish), something like that would be your best bet

Start hunting for those witcher armor diagrams now. They take a LONG ass time. I suggest the feline treasure hunt or the bear because they both look awesome.

After equipping this new armor, I can take several hits that barely affect my vitality. I've spent most of the game before trying to boost vitality but it doesn't seem to do much.

You're better off buffing armor.

Make some armor set from any of the witcher schools and upgrade it. Choose a school that fit ur play style it will be a lot better than that +300 vitality that u can actually lose in 1 or 2 hits.

Ps*
3rd difficulty

Hmm depends I think. Quen expires after it absorbs a percentage of you health in damage so a huge health total might be beneficial in that way. 15 armor is a fairly big chunk though I think, so I might do the armor in your case.

Great! thanks everyone for your help! i've been ignoring witcher gear and all the cat, bear stuff but il start looking into that. Are you able to get all 3 sets of gear or can you only pick one?

can get all of em. for those sets you can stumble across the diagrams in the open world but the thing to do is buy the documents from armorers/smith vendors that give you the treasure hunt quests for them, they will point to exactly where the diagrams are. Might be worth a google if you need to know which vendors to go to

Griffin Armor is the best you can get because of the bonus sign intensity and the all-around stats are great.

You don't even need armor for protection if you invest a lot of points into green skill tree.

I would like to explore the potion tree but the UI is such a nightmare I absolutely hate screwing with potions. =(

I also think witcher gear has very little wear and tear. I hardly ever have to repair my feline gear. It usually stays at around 90%. Weapons only wear when you fight opponents which are higher level.

i am wondering how this could be discussed or do someone know what armour exactly does?
What protection effect has 150 armour or 100 or 200 ....

i prefer always life .... life u can refill with decotions and potions ...

i am saying that because of many one hit deaths with 5.500 life, active quen and oil protection!!!! from al-ghuls or gargoyles .... ( i am playing death march)
