[Error]Auto Apply Oil
Error [content0]game\gameplay\effects\effects\other\oil.ws(177): Could not find function 'ShouldAutoApplyOil'
Error [content0]game\gui\main_menu\ingamemenu.ws(1491): Could not find function 'SetAutoApplyOils'
Error [content0]game\gui\main_menu\ingamemenu.ws(1493): Could not find function 'SetAutoApplyOils'
Error [content0]game\player\states\vehicles\horseriding.ws(141): Could not find function 'ShouldAutoApplyOil'

Im glad that auto oiling is finally an option, but why am I getting this error?
I had the mod previously but I had already uninstalled it when I reinstalled the mod it still gives me the error about

Error [content0]game\gameplay\effects\effects\other\oil.ws(177): Could not find function 'ShouldAutoApplyOil'
Error [content0]game\player\states\vehicles\horseriding.ws(141): Could not find function 'ShouldAutoApplyOil'

Debug controller is having the same issue as well but if I recompliled the scripts the error goes away.

UPDATE:
After doing the scientific method of readding my mods one by one.
It was the "Multi Companion Mod Enhanced" that was triggering the oil issue.
Not sure why :/

Might have to remove your mod folder or all mods in it. If its saying this, you missed something

Me too! But later I deleted mod "modAutoLootMenu" and I can enter the game.

Same for me, even after removing the mod. There's some other mod that's causing it because I can play with no mods folder, but I don't want to remove all my mods! I don't have AutoLoot so it's not the same as the person above.

Edit: for me it was Improved Horse Controls. No idea why.

For me, I removed "modRemoveItemLevelReqs", and the game works perfectly. Although I miss not having a level restriction on my items now.

I removed Improved Horse Controls which has caused merge issues in the past but still get the same error.

Have you added the mod settings menu to your filelist? You have to do it manually for next gen, also make sure autoapplyoils is the next gen version.

I've got mod setting menu installed.......is it this you are talking about?

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3650

I had auto apply oils installed...removed it and get the same error message regardless.

Check if you have the Spawn Companion mod that lets the NPCs come visit you at Corvo Bianco, thats the one that triggers the oils issue :/

Uninstall the mod and remove it from from your mods folder if it's still there. Delete and merges that include autoapplyoils then reinstall it again.

I've scrapped my mods and will apply them again as i've got less than 10 installed to see which one is giving the issue.

You need to do a clean unistalling of mods , or wait for authors to patch them.

By the way:

I sadly have no knowledge of modding (editing code)

But after editing oil.ws file and deleting part about auto - oil , it went from above error to only single line error of line 7 , but line 7 is just } ending code so ...

I also tried editing other oil files but one is too much encrypted and other way too hard for me to understand , so I am left waiting for mods author patch as well (well not really since I finished game anyway)
