Steel vs Silver sword- Human or Humanoid?

So the steel sword is for humans or human-like creatures aka humanoid? For example, a Drowner looks humanoid, so would I use the steel sword?

No, Silver for monsters (non-beast, that is wolfes and bears go for steel).

You can always look at the healt bar of your targer to verify. Red for steel, Silver for Silver.

The Steel sword is for creatuers born in the world Geralt lives in, so yea, humans and wolves....bears too. But the silver sword is for creatures created when the spheres collided or were brought in from another realm or something like that...so that would be monsters and members of the Hunt, for example.

Ive seen townfolk lump plenty of monsters with their basic steel swords and wooden clubs and the effect tends to be a dead monster.
Wallop^ Once, maybe twice, ghoul or drowner hits the deck cold while I'm twirling around like a f4g and doing next to no damage at all.

Silver swords are a myth even by games own standards.
They are there to look pretty. Nothing else.

The black smiths must wet themselves with joy when they see a witcher strolling in to town at a distance is slow motion..
They be like: "Right, here comes one now, just keep a straight face ffs. Just watch this plumb ask me to make him a sword out of SILVER. No, I'm not joking, he will, just watch. I'm gonna make a ton of money crafting a sword out of one of the worst metals you could possibly choose from. Right. HUSH!

Steel for things born in Geralts world. So wolves and humans....bears too.

Silver for things brought into the world in the Conjunction of Spheres. This would magical/monster things.

Looks like the ingredients are similar too. Those must be common items...not the beastly Witcher swords. Teh Silver Swords I have crafted required silver though...

I don't know man. Video game logic.

There is other silver swords with no silver at all in game. And if you remember you have a double purposed crossbow, and bombs. :)

I told before ( http://steamcommunity.com/app/292030/discussions/0/523890681413616202/?tscn=1436101178#c523890681418861795 ) all creatures from meat and blood - steel, magical or dead - silver. How thing in game is now - quite confusing.

The humans in Geralt's world were brought there in a Conjunction of Spheres. The world originally belonged to elfs and dwarfs. So, the silver sword should work against humans too, if that was the reason :-)
