You can only access Kaer Morhen once you have completed the story missions in Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige - which would be the start of Act 2.

No.

There are 3 distinct acts in the game. Act 1 is investigating Ciri's wereabouts (which is definitely the longest act), Act 2 is all about uncovering the secrets of the Wild Hunt. Ciri, etc and Act 3 is of coarse the big preparation and show down with the Hunt.

The length of an act really depends on how much extra stuff you do. If you front loaded yourself by doing a crap load of exploration and side quests during Act 1 then yes, Act 1 feels like most of the game.

Once you reach Kaer Morhen, you still got quite a big chunk of main storyline ahead of you, so nothing to worry about. :)

To be fair too, even though the Wolf stuff is scaled like Feline, Griffin, and Ursine it IS the best armor in the game - so it might not be entirely bad if you don't get it to use it before the final stages. IIRC while the mastercrafted versions of the other 3 require level 31, the mastercrafted Wolven armor requires level....34 I think....

i know it's the best armor but i was mainly going for it since it's medium
after finding out (ORIGNALLY) there wasnt any Wolf School armor i just went on and sided with the Cat School armor

personally i like the perks of medium more

Just add the crafting schematics to your inventory via the console commands.
Fear2288 Jul 2, 2015 @ 8:43pm
You know the Griffin armor is medium right?

Feline = light, Griffin = medium, Wolven = medium, and Ursine = heavy

...still wish they would've added in Viper School sets though...I can't really think of any justification as to why they put in a single set of Viper and then gave the rest of the schools multiple versions...

Griffin armor looks hella ugly

Don't listen to these people. it basically is the end of the game before you go to Kaer Morhen. Which really really sucks. Especially since the basic Wolf armor is level 14 and you pretty much cant get to Kaer morhen without being at least level 20, it basically nerfs the basic set altogether.

Luckily, all of the other DLC armors are really sweet and they'll hold you over till you can craft the wolf set. Or you can do what I did and add the basic version via consle commands at level 14. If you add the schematics it'll mess up the associated quests and I didn't want to do that. Even if it's just a little hunt for pieces of paper. I ended up adding the basic set via console and by the time I could actually wear the enhanced set (level 21) I had just arrived at Kaer Morhen and proceded the treasure hunt as normal.
