PLZ guys
Dead2Rights Jun 28, 2015 @ 8:59pm
Cat School 1/1
Muscle Memory 5/5
Precise Blows 5/5
Whirl 5/5
Counter Attack 3/3
Undying */5 (Doesn't matter, 1 pt is good, more is gravy)
Acquired Tolerance 3/3

Literally whatever else you bloody feel like. Personally I'd go more into alchemy for the bonus vitality and being able to drink at least 2 decoctations.

Sword Tree:

Muscle Memory x5
Filler x5 it literally does not matter what you take because you won't even use it.
Precise Blows x5
Filler x5 prefer Crushing Blows
Whirl x5
Filler x5 prefer Razor Focus
Crippling Strikes x5

Slot: Muscle Memory, Precise Blows, Whirl, Crippling Strikes and 2 filler skills.
Do not use 3/3 skills, only 5/5 skills.
Use two Greater Red Mutagens.

Signs:

Melt Armor x5
Delusion x3

Slot: Melt Armor, Delusion, Cat School Techniques
Use one Greater Blue Mutagen.

Alchemy:

Poisoned Blades x5
Acquired Tolerance x3

Slot: Poisoned Blades, Acquired Tolerance, Focus
Use one Greater Green Mutagen.

Neutral skills:

Cat School Techniques x1, Focus x1

Use Feline Armor, Devils Puffball, Dragons Dream and Explosive Arrows.
Keep Katakan and Troll decoctions active at all times and always use blade oils.
Slot Swallow and Water in your potion slots.

Slot Igni glyphs in your armor and Poison glyphs in your swords.

Basic strategy:

Open with igni to stun and ignite, then take 2-3 swipes to apply poison and bleed.
Dodge away while the target bleeds out.
Rinse repeat.

If you get hit hard, dodge away, use quen/swallow/water and avoid combat until full health.

Against massed opponents use whirl.

Don't ever stand toe to toe with an enemy trading blows.
There might be better builds but I've used this one on two playthroughs.
It levels well and well past full build by end game.
Make sure you are hitting up places of power when available.

I have full guide on Russian but I guess you won't understand anything, so here is the picture of high-end.

Any more opinions?

Whirl + Ekhidna Decoction = Immortality
PPW68 Jun 29, 2015 @ 2:17pm
Quen (exploding) + muscle memory + cat school skill + cat school armor + bleeding runes + quen glyphs. Fill the rest of the skills as you like. Arrow deflection and acquired tolerance are nice. Axii is nice for opponents with shields.

Cast Quen. Roll around. Hit opponents. When the Quen breaks, roll away and repeat.

That core is enough to win on normal without any trouble, whatever extra skills you select will just make it easier.

Skills:

Swordsman tree:

  • Muscle Memory 5/5
  • Precise Blows 5/5
  • Resolve 5/5
  • Fleet Footed 5/5
  • Whirl 5/5
  • Razor Focus 5/5
  • Sunder Armor 5/5

Alchemy tree:
  • Acquired Tolerance 3/3
  • Heightened Tolerance 5/5
  • Tissue Transmutation 5/5

Common tree:

  • Cat School techniques 1/1
  • Rage Management 1/1

Mutagens: 4x Great Red/3x Great Red + 1x Great Green

Equipment:

  • Feline mastercrafted armor, boots, and trousers
  • Assassin's gloves
  • Feline/Ursine crossbow
  • Wolf/Ursine mastercrafted swords

Decoctions:
  1. Ekhidna
  2. Wyvern/Succubus/Alghoul/Katakan

Potions:
  1. Superior Thunderbolt
  2. Superior Tawny owl
  3. Superior Maribor forest

Whirl doesn't interrupt till you are out of energy and adrenaline points (thanks to Rage Management). Drinking the Ekhidna decoction will help you healing your HP while using Whirl, rolling, using signs, e.t.c.

Enemies use shields, block and parry your attacks (like Eredin)? Evade, roll and attack from different angles and use Whirl, cast Axii or Aard.

If we use whirl and enemy attacks, do we get hurt?

though, spamming fast attack on a blocking mob will wear down weapons fast.
