Woodland Spirit - Unable to progress...

I've read the section about the Leshen but the quest does not update.
I've fought one before as well.

There should be an additional bestiary entry specifically about the woodland spirit. You need to read that one I think, not the one for Leshen in general.

If you did that though, then it seems to be a bug, though I haven't read about this happening before so far.
Reloading an earlier save seems to be the only way then.

the woodland spirit is of the named variety than the plain leshen which you can fight in the lands surrounding caer morhen, if you are talking specifically about the woodland spirit whose quest can be found in Skellige, there are people you need to talk to in a village, to activate the quest.

i had the same problem, i read early the book about leshen but 'in the heart of the woods' quest doesn't continue. here is my problem solution :
- press 'B'
- enter the relics
- read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ woodland spirit

just encountered this bug, yes i have to reload the previous save to solve it. thank you by the way.
